    Your Thoughts: vBulletin 3.0.1

I've encountered a minor issue since the upgrade. I use Norton Internet Security 2004 for virus protection and as a firewall at home and something in this version of vBulletin is triggering security alerts. Whenever I post I get the following message: This page provides potentially unsafe...

Velcro; what fabric will it attach to?

Have you considered trying some strong magnets? They work well and I've used them for rigging a few times. You can usually pick them up in craft stores or Wal-Mart. *Edit: Oops, I guess great minds think alike, eh Jinx? lol *

    Inside the Blinking Eye

Yeah, that seems to load more quickly. Not sure what software you have for image editing, but what Zoetrope is suggesting is that you use each big picture (say "animal_pic_1.jpg") and resize it to a smaller, more managable size as save the reduced pic under a different filename (like...

    My Antron

Yeah, I just re-read that post. Mn, jst I canont ytpe pooperly sometmes. :p I think the dye packets recommend the washing machine method and it's OK for most fabrics, but not anything delicate or material that pills. If something shouldn't be machine washed in hot water then you probably...

    Inside the Blinking Eye

This is really great! :) The only thing I noticed is that some of the pictures at the bottom of the page didn't load. Oh and I'm stuck on dial-up for a few days and the size of the pics are huge (each one is about 3mb I think) so it took over fifteen minutes to download them all. Great stuff...

Velcro; what fabric will it attach to?

Larry's wingnut method is an interesting approach - I haven't tried that. I've done something similar with doll joints, but you have to make sure you use a type of doll joint that comes apart easily (most don't). They have the advantage of being much lighter than hardware. The method I...

    My Antron

I would NOT dye using the washing machine method. It will ruin fleece. I dye fleece in a large flat plastic tub (I dye the fleece laying flat in the tub so the colour remain even. Be sure to cut small squares to "test" colours before you dye the whole piece (I have some photos of what I'm...

    Realistic puppeteers?

I've done a fair bit of realistic puppetry - animals in theatre and a little FX-type stuff here and there. There's some links to info on animatronics/FX puppets on my website here. Maybe those will help.

Sculpt or Coat. Tried it? Like it?

Sorry, I meant the Muppet Central forum archives. There should be more information in one of these threads: http://forum.muppetcentral.com/search.php?searchid=146772 PuppetPlanet (the forum member) has a lot of info on Sculpt or Coat I think.

Sculpt or Coat. Tried it? Like it?

I haven't really used Sculpt or Coat that much, I think Puppet Planet has some experience with it. Try searching the archives, I'm sure it's been discussed a few times.

Neat & Cheap (so far!) Puppets on Ebay

Not necessarily. Ground shipping would probably not be too bad....but slow.

    Where are you Frogboy?

Jamie was last seen firing a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher somewhere in Indonesia. :p Actually I made that up. But I have a friend and the last time I heard from him he emailed a picture of himself doing just that. Apparently you can do just about anything for $100 US in Indonesia.

Neat & Cheap (so far!) Puppets on Ebay

Hi all, Pavlov's Puppets have two puppets on ebay right now. They look pretty neat and best of all they haven't set a reserve price. Bidding is still at 99 cents for the Pelican. Monkey Puppet http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?viewItem&item=3191066615&ssPageNam Mouse Puppet...

    Bear Town

Had some trouble with my ISP over the weekend. I think I've got it sorted out (I am typing online after all ;) ) but the lost time means I'm going to have delay the first episode. It will still be up sometime Tuesday, but not midnight like I had originally planned. Back to editing...

    Muppet Tapout for the XBox

I hope there's a PS2 or PC version available. I haven't been impressed with many of the Muppet games but this sounds like fun! :)

Yeah, I would suggest rounds piece of styrofoam or polyfoam.

    C is for...

...Consumer Monster! This is pretty neat. They've even included instructions on how to make your own Cosumer Monster here. Best of all it's being released under the terms of the Creative Commons License. Very cool.
