Someone's looking for a puppeteer to do a costume/puppet in St. Louis. Here's the details: Pays $75 per day plus a performance based bonus at the end of the run. In between shows and breaks you get to play & interact with the patrons. Performances run 30 minutes 2-3 times daily. You are not...

Puppet making supplies - Leo Brodie

Asking an upholstry shop for scraps is a great idea. You can also ask them about upholstry suppliers in your area (they might be willing to give you contact info if they know you're not competing with them). These places often charge 1/3 what fabric stores do. Here in Toronto if the fabric...

I think it is scheduled for the Fall.

    MirrorMask

It's still intended for video/DVD only. I think their motivation was the fact they made a lot of money on Henson's previous fantasy releases so they wanted to try something new but low-budget and avoid the extra $20 million or so it costs to do a theatrical release. I hope it sells really well...

    Arm Rods

Try Wal-Mart. They usually carry them in the craft section. Most craft supply stores and doll/teddy bear supply stores (if you have one in your area) should carry them too. Or if you want to buy online try searching Froogle. I'd recommend buying the slightly more expensive variety. I picked...

    Homemade Grover at eBay

You know it's not a bad looking puppet and kudos for making a point of actually putting "Homemade" in the item name. Although auctions like these are technically against ebay's TOS there's absolutely no attempt here to mislead potential buyers in to thinking it's something that it's not which...

    faom/latex puppets

Miss Piggy was foam latex and flocked. "Foam" here usually refers to polyurethane foam rubber which is sold in sheets. There's different kinds including reticulated foam, microcell foam (which is what I believe most of the Muppets are made with now) and the standard "couch cushion" variety you...

    MirrorMask

I don't think there are a lot of puppets, but many fantasy creatures. Dave McKean set up his own FX workshop to do it because the Creature Shop was too expensive. There's more info in this thread - http://forum.muppetcentral.com/showthread.php?t=11907 Philip also recently posted this...

    National Day of Puppetry Events

The big day is of course this Saturday (although it's sometimes celebrated at other times of the month in some areas) and I've compiled a list of most of the events happening around the US at blog.bear-town.com. If anyone knows of other events happening elsewhere please share your info here!!

    Homemade Grover at eBay

That's a very good point. I hadn't thought of that. I wasn't trying to be mean about the rod, it just struck me as a funny statement "Does not include arm rod." Like an arm rod was an option like you'd have for a car. *Buck resolves to stop mocking ebay auctions* :zany:

    latex puppets

Contact cement is a type of very strong glue (adhesive). There's a whole range of different types available. You have to make sure you get one that will properly bond foam (some won't). Here in North America most people use what is called "All Purpose" contact cement. To make latex puppets...

    Homemade Grover at eBay

No, no, no!! I wasn't saying that the wire coat hanger was cheap (I do that too). Should have explained better. I meant that it was pretty cheap they weren't including the arm rod. Just struck me as kinda odd.

    Homemade Grover at eBay

I love how they list it as "Pro" and then say "He is homemade for at home use only. But that is up for you to follow. Arm rod is not included." They won't include the arm rod? How cheap can you be? It appears to be just a bent coathanger. Someone should start a hall of fame for...

Of course. :) Marshall and Buck turn up in episode 4. It was supposed to be earlier but I ran in to some production issues. I'm also trying to get a bunch of episodes and/or clips from the Marshall & Buck Show up in the video vault section of my site.

Why is Bert not on Sesame Street much anymore?

Youre're right...Bert and/or Ernie are not dead, they're not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) and they don't have cancer. Those are all urban legends. The rumours about B&E have been circulating ever since Jim Henson died. As far as I can tell, most of it stems from media...
