    Bear Town

Wow, that was quick. I posted those like five minutes ago. Thanks. Yeah, I still have to do a little more work on Tumbles but he's cute. I always hate it when puppets get rebuilt and you have to get used to a slightly different look. I have rebuild Omle's head too before we shoot the third...

    Bear Town

I'm starting to think this first episode is cursed...still not done but I'm *almost* there. In the meantime I've posted the first stills from the episode as a sort of "sneak peek" at blog.bear-town.com (look under today's date) for anyone who's interested.

    Is Jerry Nelson okay?

Jerry's actually posted on MC before (was it the old Delphi forum?). I've heard here and elsewhere that Jerry's had some undefined health issues, but he seemed to be pretty good when he was at the MOTR in New York in the fall. As a matter of fact he mentioned Muppet Central (and Tough Pigs...

    Film Production

I agree with what Zoetrope was saying....especially about not getting hung up on quality early on BUT I would suggest at a minimum shooting on Mini-DV if that's even remotely possible - . Hi-8 is not a bad format and served me well for years, but it's a little outdated these days. Don't use...

    Dharma Pigment question

I'm not familiar with Dharma Pigment, but first can you dye the polar fleece? I've encountered some kinds that won't take dye well. Also, special dyes have to be used for black light. Anybody know if this Dharma Pigment the right thing to be using? Darren maybe?

What kind of stuff are you up to in Mississauga? There's quite a few puppeteers out that way.

You should get in touch with Carlos Benoit - he'd be interested in hearing about your company. Email me privately for his contact info.

    Pepe the shrimp

I've built dozens of puppets that work like this. It's actually pretty simple once you get the hang of it. The simplest way to make a control for a Pepe (or similar puppet) is to just use a fish hook remover. In fact I'm surprised that they didn't just use one of these for Pepe. They're...

Scariest Kermit Puppet Auction on eBay

LOL that's classic. We gotta start a bad homemade Kermit hall-of-shame. :D

How to Make a Mascot Type Costume?

The best site I've seen for this kind of thing is Nick's Fursuit Pages at http://www.nicodemus.org/fursuit.cgi I have a few links at http://www.bear-town.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=11&Itemid=42&limit=1&limitstart=3 that might help give you some ideas for how to get started on...

    Bear Town

So 22 Windows updates and several anti-virus scans later I think I resolved my computer problems at last - I'm done the first episode and plan to post it on Monday. The BT Community is back online. If you were a member before unfortunately you have reregister because the old database was...

    Please Help...mobile puppet stage plans

Sounds like you're on the right track, but saw this on the PofA Board and thought I would add it to the thread: CrimsonArts Studio has been manufacturing our fantastic "Walk-Around" Puppet Theater for several years and selling both directly and on our eBay store (Crimson Arts Studio). Great...

    Clothes

I find hats and accessories the most time-consuming things to make...if you're puppet is small enough (10" - 16" or so) a good source for hats, accessories and even some clothing is Build-A-Bear Workshop - their web site is www.buildabear.com.

    Puppet Patterns

Hi Beaker Meep Meep, welcome to the forum! :) There's a number of patterns available for free on the web. The general consensus seems to be that most of these are not really very good, but they can definately help get you started. A quick search of Google will turn up most of them. There used...

Why they don't show old Muppet sketches anymore

I think using some of the skits from the first few seasons might not be so good (the characters changed a lot the first 2 or 3 years) they're still airing clips from the 70s and they hold up really, really well I think.

    My Antron

Because pilling can occur in the dryer I usually squeeze the water out of the antron fleece and hang it to dry. Be sure to squeeze the water out of the fleece gently. Do not try to wring it. Depending on the temperature and humidity it takes anywhere from one hour to overnight to dry.

    Inside the Blinking Eye

If the original images are still on your site they must be eating up well over 10 mb. If space is a concern then cut down the size of the large images to something like 640 x 800 pixels - big enough for most people unless it's something really detailed that has to be bigger. Do that before...
