Did you notice the part that said "and the public???" That's kind of why I thought it would be available to the public. And I mean it's possible that the woman you talked to didn't know anything. I do remember talking to someone at WGBH back in February, and they didn't tell me you had to have a specific reason.

I noticed where it said that. However, you have to be a DC resident to actually watch them at the library of Congress. That’s what I was getting at.

and fair, but again I’m taking this with a grain of salt for now. I’ll wait till I hear if other folks at Boston end up going there or not.

At the very beginning of the article, it says “The Sesame Street collection will be available to view on-site at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C”

This part I will admit also kind of threw me off a little. I wasn’t sure if “on-site” meant “on-location physically at the Library of Congress” or “on the website of the library of Congress” but my instincts are telling me the former. If anyone is better at paraphrasing that part, by all means speak up. My learning disability unfortunately will make me slow at processing sentences sometimes depending on how it’s worded.

I think "on-site" just means that it won't be available online, and you would have to go there to see the episodes. That's the impression that I got, anyway. I didn't see anywhere that you have to be a DC resident. Though it might just be more expensive if you're not.

Ding-ding-ding, that’s what I was getting at, but I apologize if my wording threw you off as well.

What I meant by being a DC citizen was it would be easier for locals to get in there. Again, making an expensive plane trip to go and watch 10-20 minutes of material ain’t worth it.

So I just want to personally apologize for losing my cool yesterday. Truth be told, this month has just been pretty frustrating for me that I just needed to find myself something that I knew would be theraputic and enjoyable, and definitely worth the road trip none the less, even if it meant having to put up with the **** traffic in Boston (and let me just say, as a Mass resident myself, I get INCREDIBLY raged driving in Boston). Since there are some episodes from seasons 27, 28 and 29 I remember seeing as a kid and aren’t on YouTube, I decided “**** it, I’ll give this experience a try now and see what it’s like”..... but then calling ahead of time to ask if it costs money to set up the appointment only to find out there was a stupid catch that wasn’t even mentioned in the article was the icing on the cake (but one other thing I should mention, the woman on the phone I was speaking to was also a bit unsure how it works out; she said she THINKS it requires research, but wasn’t 100 percent sure). I did also look over again on the article just to make sure I didn’t mis-read anything over my own excitement and there were some sections that also kind of threw me off..... mainly these parts.

But, at this point, I’m just taking all of this with a grain of salt and cancelling any plans I had to go over there and can live with it. Even if it means there are clips I’ll likely never see before I kick the bucket.

Okay......... except that’s in DC. And it isn’t worth having to make an expensive plane trip just to watch 10-20 minutes of material we haven’t seen publicly released yet. Please do your research on locations before making conclusions like this.
What episodes from Seasons 27-29 do you want to see?

I don't think you were "losing your cool," I think you had every right to be frustrated. If what they told you was true, it would definitely throw off a lot of people that would have looked forward to something like this. This was not a matter of "demanding too much instead of being grateful for what you have," this was hyped up to be a opportunity for fans of the show to see all the available content that they have produced over the years. If they had made it clear that there were terms and conditions on who can view this content, then people would have (hopefully) been understanding of this, but they did not make that clear, which gives you (and others) the right to be frustrated over this. But hey, they could be wrong. We'll see.

@datman24 i appreciate you seeing where my frustrations were coming from. At this point, what I’m going to plan to do is give them another call after a few days (just so I don’t come off as a pest) to make certain this is 100% true, because the truth is, right at the very beginning of the phone call, the woman was unsure of what I was talking about that I had to read the article from their website to her and she had to speak with someone else before finally getting the idea of what I was talking about.

I did a little more research with WGBH and DID notice programs under the “Open vault” library to watch there are required for research (via this page https://www.wgbh.org/foundation/what-we-do/media-library-and-archives), but nothing mentioned under American Archive of Public Broadcasting (which is where they’re loading up the episodes from). So.... again, I’m gonna give them another call later on and just ask if this 100% certain, as the article mentioning the episodes being available for viewing mentioned nothing in regards to having to have a specific reason to set up an appointment. If it turns out no, cool. If yes, well, I tried. And if it does turn out to be the latter in the end, MAYBE in the near future I’ll make a trip to DC if there are Sesame Street moments I’d like to see at least once and then cross off my Sesame Street bucket list.
