Nah, not amen. I just don't want anymore instigations or conflict between US MCer's. Let politicians be in politics and us be Muppet Fans.

There's threads to post discussions about political interests in to argue about those topics.

I just don't like conflict of any kind and think we all have much more to offer one another here at MC than arguing or poking/prodding each other to throw ourselves or others off a forum.

That's all.

This is a community of friends and we should all be friends. Life is too short and too dramatic without arguing about politics in threads about other topics.

Of course, everyone is free to do what they want where they want, but seems we could post about more 'funner' things than that post stated.

Let's just all be friends, get along, and have fun.

If one comment from a film maker is going to lower their morale........... Maybe they should find another line of work.

Fozzie Bear: I agree with you in spirit, but censorship is the killing of ideas and communication. The only reason why I can continue to participate in this forum at all is because Jamie forced me to take the Iraqi flag down or I'd be banned. So I took it down.

You're all allowed to fly the US flag, but the Iraqi flag is not allowed here. A flag is just a flag. It says nothing. It is silent.

But in a time of war, flying your flag means you're for the side of the flag you're waving. I don't like Saddam, and I love America, but I feel this is an unjust invasion for oil. Bush already won. Saddam was immobolized with all the world watching. Bush was insane to wage war as if he's the only country in the world. Saddam didn't blow up the WTC, Osama did. The USA helped to make Saddam strong while he killed and tortured his people, and the USA knew it. America loved Saddam. You only stopped being friends when he meddled with world oil prices by invading Kuwait.

Maybe people here find me "inconsiderate," but I am only bringing the truth, silent on a PC screen. The USA is bringing death to a country.

Therefore, Bush' invasion is a reckless advance on the Middle East to force Western control of oil.

I find Bush to be a murderer, a hypocrite, and a thief...IN THIS MATTER.

I'm for Iraq in this, becuase evil as Saddam is, he's not invading your country.

I was told to take my flag of choice down..."or else."

There. Now you know. If I forced anybody to take their flag down, would they be happy?

I've been accused of making personal attacks, but I ask you all: Where are they?

I know what I'm being told.

"Support the USA or shut up."

Yeah...America sure loves "freedom," huh?

I thought that Renee Zellweger was acting everytime she won an award. I am glad someone else noticed it. She bugs me.

No flag has been banned from this forum. We received complaints from a number of forum members about the use of the Iraqi flag in an avatar and out of respect for their feelings a change was suggested, not demanded. I am sorry for any misunderstanding.

I hope everyone (and I do mean everyone) will be considerate in how they incorporate political messages into their avatars at present. Some forum members see the use of the Iraqi flag as symbolic support for Hussein and the atrocities he has committed against the Iraqi people and his neighbors. Other forum members see the use of the American flag as support for an invasion they feel is illegal and unjust. Everyone is entitled to their view and to have their view respected.

Avatars and signatures allow each of us to personalize our posts. Everyone is free to express themselves and their views in their avatar, so long as they do so in a manner that is respectful of other forum members. If anyone is offended by an avatar, they are welcome to politely let the person know or to report the avatar to a moderator.

We're dealing with pretty complex issues. It can be difficult to separate one's personal views and be objective when emotions run high. I am starting a new thread to POLITELY and RESPECTFULLY talk about the issue of political messages in avatars and signatures (see Avatars, Sigs and Political Messages in the Website and Forum folder). Please share your thoughts on the matter in that thread and let's leave this one to the Oscars so that those who wish to avoid discussion of war-related issues may do so.

Thank you.

MuppetQuilter: "No flag has been banned from this forum."

Fine. Back up it goes.

Jamie told me that if people kept complaining, it would be taken down. I'm not making it up, and although he won't talk to me anymore, we WERE friends almost immediately after he became a member here AFTER me, back at the old forum, and we stayed friends until this issue blew up. Well over 2 years.

And he knows darn well what he told me. God knows, too, Jamie.

Now you say no flags were banned.

Furthermore, I allowed Jamie to intimidate me out of the "Interesting Gulf War News" thread, because he was threatening to ban me. Now, in the Oscar thread, I can't talk about Michael Moore...because it's connected to the war. But others can.

So now, I'll kick myself off of this thread, too.

Would somebody please show me where I insult and slander people? Just because I argue well doesn't mean I'm guilty of those charges :concern:

Remember, say whatever you like...I'm off this thread, too.

Jeez...diplomacy by brute force

Insults to MuppetQuilter: 0
Slander: 0 (you know what you told me, Jamie)

WAIT A MINUTE---I JUST SAW JAMIE'S---GIMME A HALF AN HOUR---I'LL CHANGE MINE AGAIN

There...I fixed it. Iraq, the US, France, the Netherlands and LAST...my own country...Jim Henson...Sid Crowe...and a peace sign with a GREEN leftist background. Ha!
