Anyone know where I can find a picture of Sweden's flag? I think I'd like to stick that in my avatar and fly it. </sarcasm>

Well, Skeeter, if you're trying to say I'm an idiot for thinking a flag means anything, you've failed to prove your point. First, a Sweden flag wouldn't offend me because we're not at war with Sweden. If I saw a Swedish flag, I'd assume that's just where you were from. Sid doesn't have that excuse.

Second, by flying the Swedish flag, you'd be making a sarcastic point at my expense. Proving my point that flags DO have meaning.

And if I've completely misread or misinterpreted your post, accept my apologies in advance.

Now back to the Oscars. I guess that I'm the only one who enjoyed the fact that the ceremonies were short. I didn't enjoy the film montages, but I never do. You'd think that the Academy of Motion Pictures with all the footage in cinema history could edit together better pieces.

I remember when animator Chuck Jones accepted his award several years ago, he appeared very apologetic. Later he stated he was apologizing for the video clip. LOL!

The ceremony this year was quick and snappy. A few scrapes and bumps along the way, but that always happens. There were some great fashions too. It was a very appropriate show and I wouldn't have done much differently.

Next year will probably be a mad party. I wonder if Billy will host. Seems likely.:excited:

the whole introducing past winners went on FOREVER i mean it's nice to introduce the ones from the 60's and 70's that we forgot about...but i think we all remember how Julia Roberts looks...

That was the one slow point. Yeah, that could have been much quicker. I wondered how long that would take when they started. It also favored actors over the other artists, but the Oscars always do that. It's just that films are such a committee. The fact that the writers and editors are often overlooked means they did their jobs right. Showing them in groups and naming them with caption of their projects underneath would have been a lot quicker.

In WWII Sweden was neutral. It wasn't on the side of the Allies or the Nazis.

By flying the Swedish flag, I'd be supporting neutrality.
