Looking good! I'm completely unaffiliated with them, but Out of the Box Puppets sells a green Antron fleece that looks pretty much bang on, colour-wise...
Hi all,
Have built my first puppet and keen for some feedback. The wrinkles in the arms are a bit of a pain and not sure why they happened (the stretch in the Antron run the length of the arm not the width, so that shouldn't be the reason?), and for the life of me I can't work out how his...
I agree - although it seems a network (Channel Seven) has been identified: http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/zoo-starts-a-rush-of-major-new-american-tv-shows-set-to-hit-aussie-screens-in-coming-months/story-e6frfmyi-1227422110573
Try looking through these posts here at the forum - it looks "inside" one of the MR Kermits:

Thanks for the link to the article - a really interesting read. Unfortunately there was one big thing that made me go "uh-oh", and that was the fact that the development of this has been so incredibly fast, and the pilot episode that was so-well-received wasn't actually a full pilot, but only a...
One minor suggestion? Either move the eyes down slightly or the nose upwards. The top of Fozzie's nose starts about 5/8 of the way between his eyes, whereas on yours it's almost at the bottom...otherwise, awesome build!!!
This page has some good info on foam latex: http://www.sagecraft.com/puppetry/building/FoamPuppets.html
This is what it says about lifespan:
STORAGE & LIFE EXPECTANCY: Foam chemicals stored tightly capped in a cool room will last a year or more. Shake them every month or so. Cured latex stored...
Yeah - I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that 20 Miss Piggy heads were made for the most recent movie - foam latex isn't very durable, and even just standard direct sunlight will begin to break it down.
I know it's a fairly long time after you guys were discussing this, but if you never actually found out what the featurette was like, it was a couple of minutes of Walter learning his lines in his trailer and some interaction with the Frackle they had hosting all the other behind the scenes...
Oh yeah, for sure. After all, it's not really all that fair to criticise foam, fleece and wire for not precisely mimicking the physics of flesh, skin and bone!
I think that most of the larger muppets (e.g. Fozzie, Rowlf) look a bit awkward when seen in full view. I wonder if part of it doesn't have something to do with the same problem that used to be obvious in early CGI animation, and that is that they don't have any actual weight in their lower...
That's not exactly correct. Just off the top of my head, the original stage productions of Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, and Into the Woods are all live Broadway shows, or touring versions of the Broadway original, that have been filmed for TV/DVD. Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar...
I wouldn't be surprised if Actors Equity and the Broadway unions didn't have a prohibition against using a 100% prerecorded vocal track. While I know that some shows use a certain amount of prerecorded tracks, it's one thing to be playing the prerecorded voice of the actress playing Christine...
Now that is an awesome Pig!
For what it's worth, I know that Reevz's isn't the only criticism of Creature Clones on this board. It's a shame because based on the look of that Piggy they might be someone I'd consider (along with the insistence on the use of an escrow service) if it wasn't for...
Great idea, thanks for compiling these resources. I notice that the Woman's Day article for example links out to another site…have you considered hosting a version locally on your own site so that the resource remains available should the linked site become defunct?
I'd use caution with coat hanger wire, because I have doubts over how often you can bend it without it snapping. I just did a test and while I admittedly put it through a pretty extreme range of motion (a 90 degree bend to left taken all the way through to being a 90 degree bend to the right) it...
Having not seen the FAO Whatnots in person I can't be sure, but I imagine that this particular puppet was built as part of the same order for the puppets used in the "Apollo Apollo" episode. It definitely is not an off-the-shelf puppet, because I am almost certain the FAO muppets don't have a...
The 30 Rock puppets were built specifically for the show, and while they were in the style of (and performed by) Henson/Sesame Street alumni, they weren't specifically Whatnots and so did not need any copyright reference.
What do you mean by "the mouth dimpling"? From what I can see of the Punto, the head is one piece. The foam of Fozzie's lower jaw is separate to the foam in the rest of his head. Does this info help?
