Old School Sesame coming to DVD October 2006

Well, it's two different companies handling each set: Shout Factory is doing Electric Company and Sony/Wonder is doing Sesame.

    Favorite SST Merchandise

Mine is a replica of the Sesame Street sign that I have mounted to a pole in my daughter's room that was made exclusively for the now-closed Sesame Street stores.

    Your Sesame Moment

My SESAME STREET moment was when Star Wars came to the show in 1978. For me, it was a marriage of my two favorite things in the world.

    Female Muppeteers Appreciation Thread

Just wanted to do a shout-out to all of the female Muppeteers, past and present. (Have I forgotten anyone?) Fran Brill Leslie Carrera-Rudolph Carmen Osbahr Pam Arciero Stephanie D'Abruzzo Lisa Buckley Judy Sladky - Camille Kampouris Jennifer Barnhardt Karen Prell Kathryn...

    Matt Vogel's Big Bird

To Matt Vogel's credit: Of all of the Sesame Street Muppet voices to get right, Big Bird has got to be the HARDEST. Grover's, Cookie's, Ernie's....Not as hard.

What would you like on Sesame Street Old School Volume 1?

Does that Muppet trap the teacher Muppet in a square at the end? Is that's what's going on there?

    Jim Henson and 1980s Performers

Brian Muehl was Telly??? So Marty Robinson didn't originate the role? How different did he sound?

    Telly and Snuffy

Nope. Just like Prarie Dawn and Zoe, they have been in the same scene, but they've never ADDRESSED each other. Just like Ernie and Kermit, the closest we've ever seen them sharing the same scene was one time, and that was: "Do the Rubber Duck."

    Elmo & Fireworks

"How do you Do?" was sung by Lena Horne and Grover in 1973. So it's considerably old.

    What's The Deal On Oscar?

I heard Jim Martin does Oscar when Carroll's in the Big Bird suit and both characters are on screen together. And then Carroll loops in Oscar's voice afterwards.

    Gabby.

Gabi doesn't have a great singing voice, that's for sure. Have you seen her with A New Way to Walk on the karoake season premiere Season 35? Talk about OFF-KEY.

    Favorite Telly Moments

I really don't care for Telly, cause his arrival signaled the end of the golden age of Sesame Street. 1969-1981

    Guess That Shape and Color

It includes: The street scene with Elmo and Zoe and that game show host from the Square Game episode then it goes to the Hip to Be Square Song then it goes to some triangle song sung by Telly Monster (from the '80's?) then it goes to the street scene from the Elmo/Zoe/Healthy Game show...

    Guess That Shape and Color

I bought it for my daugher. Yes, you are right. What were once 2 free shows on PBS are now packaged into this DVD for 11.99: The Square Game episode from 2 years ago and the Healthy Foods Game from...this season? Both star Elmo and Zoe, so you know what that means: NO OLD SKITS...

    Rocco

Rocco is most likely a painted prop made of paper-mache or something lightweight that can be carried in or attached to the rod-hands of the puppet Zoe

    The Buildings of SS

123 Sesame Street: Ernie and Bert - basement Gordon and Susan - ground floor Maria and Luis - top floor Red building where carriage house is: Elmo Above Hooper's store: Bob Down the street: Grover Gina

    Early Cookie Monster

"Monster" remained stupid and barbarian the first two years. The puppet was modernized and became entirely blue and SMARTER, I might add, (not bluish-green) in the 3rd season premiere 1971, where he eats the letter "M" with Luis (in his first-ever scene too) at the fence next to Big Bird's...

    Jazzy Spies Collection.

All of the Jazzy spies cartoons are wonderfully druggy and psychedelic, but how can you not like them? They're from 1969! 1969, oh, 1969.....Let's see: Number 2: 2 elevators show 2 fish, 2 George Washingtons, 2 hands shaking each other Number 3: shows three ring circus, three balls, a...

    Sesame Street Live chat

I just came back from SESAME STREET LIVE: Super Grover Adventure in Stockton, CA with my farmily. My first reaction is how empty the stadium was, for a Saturday afternoon show? Ticketmaster listed the show as "sold-out" but there were PLENTY of seats, even on the floor! But anyway, it was...
