    Closing sequence

OK. Barkley was introduced in 1978, so we know that those end credits HAD to be done 1978 or after. And from what we know from SESAME STREET UNPAVED, the earliest Noggin episode to use those Barkley credits is 1980. So, those end credits were made somewhere between 1978 and 1980.

Do we know anything about season 37?

Ugh. I cringe every time I read one of his posts.

Do we know anything about season 37?

Yeah, right. Then why didn't you use the DELETE key and erase the obnoxious capital letters to begin with?

    When does Season 37 start?

Jeez, Mike! Talk about being a party-pooper.

    When does Season 37 start?

And if there are any threads about Sesame Street ending or the disappearance of Loretta Long, Mike just freaks out as it's really going to happen and berates anyone who dare speak of such things. It's really weird.

Frank in # of the Day?

Well, better that SOMEBODY is there to carry on Cookie Monster than have no Cookie at all. Dave's there to keep life in Cookie and Animal.

    B Is For Bubble Song

That clip was shown as early as the 8th episode back in November 1969. The Big B Treasure Hunt.

    How much longer

As long as there's government funding for public television, SESAME STREET will probably still go on. Carroll Spinney has said that his contract goes well past the 40th year, and plus they have plenty of 2nd generation cast members (Gabi, Miles) and puppeteers (Eric Jacobsen, Matt Vogel)...

Frank in # of the Day?

Frank will do a day or two each year for SESAME STREET, so he does a FEW of the Cookie Monster "Letter of the Day" skits. For example, that was Frank doing Cookie for the Letter "L" where Cookie tries to sing songs (Rubber Duckie, People in Your Neighborhood, Beethoven's 5th) to avoid...

Counting to 20, Indian hands? Anyone remember?

Yes - The skit you mentioned is on the DVD: "Learning About Numbers" and features Count and a Honker on the cover (yellow) It's on there as the second sketch.

Yeah, this was already mentioned and explained in this thread. Thanks :)

    King of 8 Narrator

I disagree. I've heard King of Eight hundreds of times over the past 35 years, and I'm sure that's not Jerry Nelson.

AGH! I thought you had some actual news. Instead it's just wishful thinking...

    The "White Dot" Skits

You can find a square version of this sketch (squares instead of dots) on the 1972 episode "Rainy Day"

    Poor Solomon Grundy

It wasn't the narrator who giggled, it were the kids who yelled: "He's still half dirty!!! Hee hee hee hee hee" Cue 1969 cartoon music.

    The "White Dot" Skits

Funny how you'll find 3 or 4 of these dot skits on the very first episode back from 1969.....I had no idea they were that old.

Classic Sesame on Electric Company DVD's

Yeah, the Shout Factory REALLY did a good job with this box set. I'd rather buy this BEST OF than a season-by-season collection. Can you imagine if Shout Factory got their hands on classic SESAME STREET?
