Classic Sesame on Electric Company DVD's

Don't have a cow about having Electric Company info posted here in this category, but in case anyone wants to see more clips featuring 1970's Big Bird and Oscar, the new ELECTRIC COMPANY DVD box set should satisfy the nostalgic SESAME STREET fan, because in it, we get: 1) A 1973 episode in...

Video: What's the Name of That Song

Not to be a stickler for info, but this clip came from the premiere episode of the 1974-1975 season and was the first episode to feature bald Gordon, Roscoe Orman.

    Dragnet parody....

I know EXACTLY where you can find a copy of this skit. The Sesame Street DVD "ALL-STAR ALPHABET" has it as a bonus extra. I know, because I've only watched this skit, like 500 times this past month.

    Your Sesame Street Era

I agree! The SESAME STREET early years were probably the best time to watch the show, because things were still fresh and the show was still focusing on the whole "inner-city" thing. Nowadays, everything is so sterile and watered-down. Not that it's BAD, it's just not as good as it used...

    My Bruno Holloween Costume

Hey Cookie: That's a great-lookin' costume. Just a few questions: How did you cut that hole in the trash can (where do you FIND trash cans like those anymore? Most of them are those rubbermaid thingies) And also, how do you not cut your hands on the sides of the hole in the trash...

    Melvin The Moving Man

MIke, Did I say that just because it looks dated that it detracts the cartoon from its quality? I could say that the Baker number skits look dated too, but it doesn't mean I don't LIKE them . Mike, you tend to take things waaaay out of proportion.

    Melvin The Moving Man

If you want to see Melvin the Moving Man on TV, it's on the 1971 premiere episode. I remember seeing it and thinking: "Man, this thing is SO dated! Look how 1970's this thing is!" I guarantee you it's on that episode. That episode is sponsored by the letter M, and it also...

This explains everything about Spinney and Vogel

Carroll is actually pretty dexterous in that costume, if you think about it. I mean, he unicycles, he SKATES in Big Bird....

    Oscar puppet question

I've seen the Oscar puppet at the Smithsonian up close, and in my honest opinion, I believe Muppet workshop built that particular one from scratch just for the purposes of the museum. That Oscar version does not resemble any version of Oscar from any era of the show.

The two girls, the tea set and the cat

That was classic Sesame Street copyright 1970. That would put those little girls at around....40, 41 by now !! *** If you want a DVD copy of this film, it's on LEARNING ABOUT NUMBERS, with Count and the Honkers on the cover.

How to make a puppet Stand?

The simplest way is to BUY one. A doll stand, to be more exact. They sell them at any craft store, like A.C. Moore, Michaels, etc. Just ask a salesperson where the doll stands are. They have different heights - 7", 12". I use one for my vintage Grover puppet and one for my 12"...

    Looking for Sesame Music

There are three other songs I can think of that you can use: Pat Patty Pat - featuring all of the Muppets on the old LP "Bert's Blockbusters" Rub Your Tummy - from the first original cast record A Simple Dance to Do - from the You Can Dance! DVD

    Electric Company Box Set

Really? You've never seen THE ELECTRIC COMPANY? You're in for a real treat. Imagine watching the perfect spin-off of Sesame Street and then classic Sesame from the 1970's back-to-back and that's the sheer bliss that millions of kids experienced until 1981 when PBS stopped showing...

This explains everything about Spinney and Vogel

I must say, Matt Vogel does a **** fine job as Big Bird. He had to sing a song on today's show, and if you close your eyes and listen really hard, it feels right. Matt's Bird kinda sounds like the character from the early seasons, when Bird was goofier and more stupid.

    Closing theme, anyone?

Hey Andrew: That's super! You think you could e-mail a copy of that theme? That would be most highly appreciated. My e-mail is jeffj@pdi.com Thanks in advance!

This explains everything about Spinney and Vogel

OK, well THAT was interesting. Anyone notice that on today's episode, where Big Bird becomes little, he had TWO voices? Re-watching this episode on Tivo confirms this: Apparently, Carroll Spinney played Big Bird on the street scene before he was turned little, and they did the old...

    Closing theme, anyone?

Does anyone have an MP3 of the original classic closing theme? You know, the one where Barkley and the kids play hide and seek behind the tree.

    Atari 2600

I just did an Ebay search and found all 5 of your wanted titles. The trick is to not search with the ACTUAL game title like: "Oscar's Trash Race" - search with the most basic words: "SESAME" and "ATARI" Here's a link. http://search.ebay.com/atari-sesame_W0QQfromZR41

Sesame Street actors on Film or Other Tv shows

I know! With Fran Brill starring and Frank Oz directing, it was a small Muppet reunion. Cookie and Prairie together again.
