I don't have a package of RIT handy (and I'm much too lazy to go find one) but doesn't each package come with instructions for hand and machine dying? Hand dying is preferrable to machine dying. You'll have better control over the results and avoid the massive pilling that seems to happen...

Just remember - you have to wear a respirator! The fumes from contact cement have all kinds of horrible, nasty, illness-inducing elements in it. It is not enough to just use it outdoors or in a well ventilated area.
