That's an interesting method, I've heard about it before but have never seen it illustrated visually before. Do you think it's possible to just embed the doll joint thingie (whatever that's called) inside the arm and have the opening only wide enough so the rod can slip inside the arm and "hook"...
I know this is an old thread, but was this toy ever released in the U.S.? I know we had it hear in Canada (though it seems to be hard to find) and it was released in Australia. I'm trying to get one for someone and can't seem to find it online at any of the US retail Web sites.
So far I've found one of the tutorials I mentioned in my previous post. It's more of an overview though. It's for constructing 14'0 giant puppets, which are actually really cool.
It's now posted here.
The best place to look for links is The Puppetry Homepage. A couple of years ago my web site used to have a section called "The Puppet Bin" where the construction process for different types of puppets was discussed step-by-step. I'll take a look through my archieve and see if I still have the...
I don't recall the exact name of the foam JHC (and others) use but it's what most people are talking about when they mention "Scott Foam." Scott does make a variety of foams though.
Does anyone know the ~actual~ name of the foam we're talking about?
This is true. Scott Foam and reticulated foam are not the same, but often confused. Scott Foam is a fairly high-end material and very expensive. Reticulated foam is a little cheaper (but still more than polyfoam usually) and commonly used to make filters for air conditioners and humidifiers...
Has anyone here seen this? I first heard about in one of those "Hot 100" lists in Entertainment Weekly. It's a game/animation site built around a set of chacters. The Web site is loaded with cool little "easter eggs." Neat stuff.

I was actually introduced to Bloom Country via Outland I think. I loved Outland, but I like most people agree that Bloom Country was the stronger strip.
Just a quick note for those who were asking - I plan to finally get the last few installments of the Tumbles P. Bear Project posted very soon. Sorry for the delay, as I mentioned before my computer got hit with a virus a few weeks back and caused major problems. Day Four was actually uploaded to...
At the time I was working for another company but I haven't worked for them for years. I'd like to be touring again with a show of my own though. That's why I have to be down in NYC for some meetings. Keeping my fingers crossed...
BTW everyone, the Christian Science Monitor posted an...
Anyone who wants to find out if CTS is available in their area can look it up on the CTS Website . I am pretty sure CTS is only available in Canada though.
If you mean "does American TV still show the Muppet Show?" where most of the classic characters originated, the answer is no (I think). I'm actually in Canada, but none of the US channels that we get up here carries the Muppet Show. CTS , a regional Christian broadcaster in Canada will begin...
Hi all,
Was just looking up some Avenue Q info on the web and decided to see what was new on the Web site of Rick Lyon, who's one of hte puppeteers in cast and posts here from time to time. I noticed he's posted a great little article for aspiring puppeteers there. I am not sure how new it...
I just found out that I will be in NYC Sept. 5-8 so I'm trying to arrange tickets for Avenue Q and Little Shop while I am down there. I've been to NYC before but never managed to actually see a Broadway show since I was usually down there on tour so this should be a treat! :excited:
