In other "Avenue Q" news, this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly included AQ as #10 on it's "Must" list. Of course that doesn't actually mean anything, but there is a nice picture of Stephanie D'Abruzzo with one of her characters.
Seems they have picked a director for the next film, Goblet of Fire. It's actually starting production in April 2004, which is before the 3rd film officially wraps up post production. Goblet of Fire is slated for a 2005 release.

The Concerned Kids in Toronto Canada are looking for volunteers who would like to be trained as puppeteers. This is a great volunteer organization here who has been educating children, young people and adults about social concerns through puppetry for more than thirteen years.
They need...
He's also attached to the Powers film, which we've been discussing here. I guess he will also be doing some voice work on the new Star Wars film as well sometime soon.
I think Frank will just be directing and not acting or puppeteering in this. Not sure what the storyline for the film is, but Bendis is one of the most acclaimed writers in comics (these days he is one of the major forces behind Daredevil and the Spiderman reboot, Ultimate Spiderman) so it...
Also just discovered that Bendis has a great official Web site at www.jinxworld.com. Lots of interviews and a history of his career. He also seems to be very active and accessible on his message board.
Powers is a DC comic book written by Brian Michael Bendis (a big mucky-muck in comic book circles) about two homicide detectives working in a city filled with Superheros. There's a Web site with a good overview of the series here. DC probably has something on their official Web site as well.
Who knows? Jim Henson did a lot of parody himself - he might have appreciated the creativity (OK, twisted creativity) behind the site. Wonder what Frank Oz thinks?
Dino Ignacio shut down the site after the Bert/Osama Bin Laden scandal. In case anyone missed this little Muppet controversy, in the aftermath of 9/11, Osama Bin Laden supporters were making up T-shirts and Posters with his (Osama's) picture and most of these photos were downloaded from the net...
Hey gang,
Just found this online and it's kinda neat. Someone made a series of "films" in the back of their car during a road trip with a couple of "puppets" - Happy Meal "Country Bears" toys they got at a roadside McDonalds.
Who'd of thunk it, an object manipulation puppet film, in the...
Two more Puppetry-related job opportunities were posted recently on the Puppeteers of America Bulletin Board as follows:
River City Puppet Works based in Moundsville WV is looking for puppteers to join our fast growing puppet team. No experience neccesary - we will train the right person. You...
AICN suggested that Steve Buscemi should have been cast as John instead and while he would have been a weird choice, it probably would have worked. I can picture him and Garfield having it out. Heck, Nathan Lane would probably make a better show of it.
I don't like to prejudge things, but...
Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but I stumbled across Mike Quinn's "Diddley Sqot" Shop on Cafepress this afternoon. There's some cool stuff for sale (though the "Thing-a-thong" isn't really up my alley). Does anyone know anything about this character?
Also, I've been meaning to post...
This is such great news! So glad to hear that Frank is doing a great project like Powers (not that his other projects are too shabby either). This was first reported a few months ago, but I hadn't heard anything since then so it's nice to know Powers is still on track, unlike certain other comic...
The only problem with Angelfire is that if you host the images there they are only accessible via HTML pages on Angelfire. Oh, that and those annoying pop-up ads.
Doteasy is a Canadian company that provides 20 mb of free webhosting ad-free if you register your own domain through them. It's a...
Well I don't know if the puppeteer was worse, but the puppet sure was. They kinda did TMNT III on the cheap and didn't want to pay big bucks for the Creature Shop the third time around.
As for Elmo - you know what? I think he's great! I can't sit through more than a few minutes of Elmo's...
