Is it being widely released? I had the impression it was more of a specialty/limited release. I haven't seen it here, but then I had trouble finding Kermit's Swamp Years in a Canadian store!
Let's just back the truck up here a moment Beau. First of all, I'll fess up to being one of the folks who complained about the links. It wasn't personal and had nopthing to do with freedom of speech.
I personally complained for the following reasons:
#1 - I really do think posting the...
No, I don't think they showed it which doesn't surprise me. I'm hoping that maybe Family Channel will pick the show up nationally if it does well on CTS (Muppets Tonight was on Family for a few years). Family is commercial-free so they would likely run the unedited shows.
I'm occasionally seen roaming around:
- The Reinventing Comics Message Board at zwol.org
- The Bendis Forum at Image Comics
- The Tough Pigs Forum
Once in a blue moon:
- He-Man.org forum
- Yahoo! Chat (rarely ever)
- The Comics Journal Message Board
I also have my own board, The...
Hi all,
I posted this is the Puppetry Forum too, but I thought I would add it here in case some visitors don't read that forum. I've recently put up a links page for my Web site www.bear-town.com and I would love to do some link exchanges with other MCers so we can promote each other's sites...
Which sketch is the UK sketch? It seemed to be the same version of the Jim Nabors show I had seen before (the edited version) but I don't have it on DVD or VHS of the unedited show to compare it to something.
Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Berkeley Breathed's Opus the Penguin is returning to a new syndicated newspaper strip AND to a screen near you soon!
Breathed's popular strip Bloom Country ran through the 1980s and was spun off in 1989 to a Sunday-only strip featuring the same characters...
Amazon is apparently shipping this. I checked for it at a local DVD store and while they didn't have it in stock they were under the impression that it could be ordered immeadately.
I think the big chains like Best Buy, Future Shop, etc. often have product shipped from a central warehouse and...
Man, I would love to keep this one to myself and do it since I have years of black light experience...sadly I'm already directing and teaching in Oct/Nov so I can't apply.
Anyway, here's the details:
Puppeteers Wanted For Off-Broadway Show
Untitled Theater Company #61 is looking...
I am not that familiar with the West Coast scene, but (if you are not already a member) if you are a puppeteer in LA you should join the LA Puppet Guild, which is affliated with Puppeteers of America. Most of the top professionals in LA are members and you can probable make good contacts at...
I know we generally try to avoid political discussion here, but I read this on Scott McCloud's daily Blog (www.scottmccloud.com/comics/mi/mi.html) and thought I would share it with everyone:
Off-topic-but-I've-got-to-tell-somebody:
Our friend Theresa was talking to some co-workers on...
I don't think Richard's illness was "a secret" but it was just not widely discussed. As I mentioned above, I believe the news reports of his death mentioned AIDS. From what I have read here in Muppet Central articles and elsewhere many of the Henson people did not know much about Richard's...
I don't think they'll be doing that unfortunately. CTS is a commercial network and they run programs at the same length as most US channels. When any of the Muppet series (like Muppets Tonight) air on the non-commercial channels here like Treehouse and Family they have traditionally run...
I think that they have several Muppets (including Bert and Ernie) as part of their permanent collection and they just rotate the display occasionally. The JHC also has a live exhibit division and they have loaned/rented pieces to the Smithsonian.
There are lots of other places to see real...
I think it is only natural for people to be curious about the death of public figure (especially a much-loved one like Richard), but it has been very apparent that the Henson folks and Richard's family have been reluctant to discuss the specifics of Richard's illness. They appear to have chosen...
I know this has been covered off in other threads, but just a reminder to everyone in Canada - The Muppet Show debuts on the Canadian Christian network CTS tomorrow night (Monday, September 1st 2003) at 7 p.m.
Check out the CTS Web site at www.ctstv.com for more information and to see if the...
Just realized none of us ever really answered Mike's original question about how to use contact cement. The basic are:
- You have to keep it tighly sealed when not in use.
- It should be applied using a stick or cheap brush.
- If you use a brush it should be kept in a jar of water so it...
