I think two Muppet posers a year is the right formula. So Puppet Heap is officially going to help or even helm this venture? Last time around they wouldn't release the Piggy head mold. I haven't been happy with most of their Piggys. I hope they go back to the classic pattern of the early 80s. I...
Hilda was a nice touch, but they just don't give her much to do or say that's either funny or substantial. It's just the story doesn't go anywhere. The art also kind of reminds me of the Labyrinth mangas with the attractive covers and unfortunate page art.
I just found this offering dull...
I prefer that look. I remember Palisades had to make Reporter Kermit reflect TMS because the GMC version was too close to his Sesame Street look that was not covered by the license before the Disney buy out.
I posted this in the other comic thread, but it's best placed here in the Robin Hood one.
Gotta say, I just got the Robin Hood comic today and found it disappointing. I was so excited and wanted to really like this. Langridge's comics have unexpectedly raised the bar in ways that this...
Gotta say, I just got the Robin Hood comic today and found it disappointing. I was so excited and wanted to really like this. Langridge's comics have unexpectedly raised the bar in ways that this initial Robin Hood offering by Beadle and Villavert Jr didn't deliver for me.
The covers were...
They're going to release four posers in a year? Really? It sounds as if every time the question is asked about a particular character they reply with a rough 2010 date. Sounds up in the air to me. I'm just looking forward to their first one and then going from there. :shifty:
To my knowledge (and I could be wrong about this) about half of the key MR staff jumped ship to form EFX. It's not that the company has a lot of the same employees, rather - it's basically MR 2.0 , but officially a different company without the name or the hardships MR faced in the last year...
I really was trying to find the ugliest Piggy out there. I think the last one (French Muppets TV version) wins...or loses as the case may be. I really haven't been thrilled with many of the Piggys in recent years. There was one they used in some of the last Christmas special that was okay, but...
I'm hearing that EFX is mostly MR, but with a new name. Is this true? MR still exists in name and some staff members, but it seems that it's all the same game, most of the same players but in a different location. How long has EFX been around?
Personally, I would prefer something closer to this but would be okay with something like this. I'm not a fan of the white-blonde or short-flat-bangs look. To me, classic Piggy looks closer to this or this but not this and certainly not this.
Should we bring up the topic of Piggy wigs again? Are they going to have different styles to pick? I like her classic medium blonde wavy style over the platinum flat-iron look or the Manhattan era 80s fright-wig myself.
Gotta say it again...piggywig!
I think this sort of thing should be dealt with outside of the store. The security cameras are there for a reason. Customer safety is more important than a few store items. Shoplifting happens more than people realize and costs stores a fortune. And it's not usually done by the poor. Thieves...
Terry is the guy who got all this going. It was his idea that he shopped around in the first place. I really do think they should retain his services for these items. I don't think any other builder would have as much inside knowledge like Terry has. Either way we all owe him a big thank you!
A few thoughts & opinions...
Would Miss Piggy be a big selling Photo Puppet?
-You betcha! It all depends on how well she is made to reflect the genuine article. Something like this has never been attempted and the type of collector who would buy a poser would definitely buy a Piggy poser. Sure...
My personal ordered wish list:
(Not to be confused with the actual real list)
1 Scooter
2 Fozzie
3 Piggy
4 Pepe
5 Teeth
6 Rowlf
7 Janice
8 Zoot
9 Sam
10 Robin
11 Floyd
12/13 Bunsen/Beaker
14/15 Statler/Waldorf
That's my list. I'd dig an Uncle Deadly, but if Scooter isn't likely...
