The Jim Henson puppet from the Muppet Show is owned by the Jim Henson Legacy. Disney does have the right to keep his appearances intact for the Muppet media, but cannot make new projects featuring the puppet. The Henson Company might share the rights with the Legacy, but I do know that any...
Oooh! I'm pulling for Scooter. He's so tough to peg. His "snout" area has this ratio between sharp and bulbous that still has yet to be replicated properly in figural or painted form. I really think yours will be the first. But, Rowlf, Sam, Statler...I'm just excited to see these beautifully...
The truth about commercial graphic design these days is that firms hire general marketers or interns (who are more telemarketer than trained artist) to drop pre-approved licensed clip art graphics on products. The funny thing is that since many of them are salaried workers or interns they spend...
It looks like a design to help skirt legal issues. Also the font choice reminds me of the recent Emmet Otter signage. I haven't been keen on most of the Henson graphic designers these days, but this is simple enough looking. I predict little to no images inside. I will probably hold off on this...
Since Disney's Little Mermaid "reboot" of its animation department in 1989 here's how the princess-to-non-princess fare stacks up with original theatrical domestic US totals for the most part. * = princess movie.
The Lion King $312M Domestic
*Aladdin $217M Domestic
Tarzan $171M Domestic...
That's an unnecessary rigid view. The Disney parks already have a great deal of Muppet statues, fountains. There's also a Jim Henson & the Muppets sculpture at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza in North Hollywood, California and a park bench sculpture of Kermit & Jim...
Me too! I do wish the Henson name had a greater, higher profile connection to the Muppet Show gang these days, but we know the score. If they ever made a Disney's Muppets logo - I'd be very upset. Didn't they try to do that sort of thing with the original merger?
Why? It was part of the deal struck with Disney that they keep the statue. It's a little bit of Kermit the Henson Company can keep. I think people are over thinking this. Disney, Henson and Kermit have no problem with it. Why should anyone else? It might confuse a person here or there, but it...
I have one of those old Samsung flip phones that's over two years old. It's time for a new one, but this one works okay. Personally I don't need an MP3 player and other capabilities, but it has a few. People live inside of their ipods too much these days. I truly believe that to be a factor in...
Thanks for the update. That makes me a little more confident. I hope this new company is someone a bit more grounded and steady than a recently purchased start-up. However, I am very excited for MR's future. I wonder if they'll be closing their doors in Walnut Creek to settle down in the UK...
So is this Factory Entertainment the company taking over the Muppet posers with MR or is the license for the Muppets going to an entirely differerent place?
I always felt since the Muppet Show was syndicated that local markets arbitrarily aired the episodes in the order they felt most reflected their audience.
I have a feeling that more of the film would have been IN space and there would have been some Muppet Show feel to it as well. Maybe even some Pigs in Space send-up, original music and a lot more wackiness. Muppets From Space should have been titled Muppets Floss, Eat, Watch Some Television, Mow...
That's true, but it would help Fraggle DVD sales if kids were exposed to the Fraggles on television first. Watch for all things Fraggle to pop up after the Doozer's show. I just hope the classic stuff isn't overlooked at that point. :busy:
