Yeah, the pig deserves the best.
I do feel the modern Piggy has looked off for several style choices.
*The short bangs change the dynamic of her face and eyes.
*The long straight hair gives her a fuller looking face that they sometimes try to thin out and then the whole puppet looks...
That first picture is classic Muppet Show Piggy right after her first good makeover. They'll never use that one, but I don't see anything odd about it. Many fans remeber her that way and she did appear on magazine covers as such, but most hardcore fans believe THIS to be the best...
I like these sections and think it will improve Muppet Central Forum's ease of use. By the way, I might find some time to remake the forum menu later on this year. I've been hitting my stride with Flash again.
Is it possible that EFX will get into other types of replicas that could represent other characters (i.e. Sweetums bust, figurines, Muppet Show sign or Scooter's Muppet Show jacket)? A small scale posable Sweetums could be cool too.
American made is far more expensive than anywhere else. I remember the old Wal-Mart commercials in the 80s that would claim, "We're made in America!" Funny thing, they don't use that slogan anymore because their buyers all but force their suppliers to make everything in China where they don't...
I get it. I just don't find it *that* funny. Post production elements and editing techniques prevent this from being true improv. It does appear a little planned and written. It is inappropriate to say there's something wrong with a person that doesn't share your particular taste in humor as...
Meh. It's okay. The composition and editing are nice. The puppets serve the purposes of the pieces. The handful of clips that I viewed are enough for my taste unless they punch up the writing a level. Fun enough stuff that I hope gets "funner" in the future. :)
Let's not forget that officially used Muppet posers just like Muppet puppets are not always in perfect condition. The quality control on these will likely be greater than the actual posers used in print pieces. However, we don't all have access to puppet builders to fix such issues. I trust EFX...
The factory mold is what costs the most in my experience. The factory-money issue was a factor in Palisades closing to my understanding. So I'd say the figures were still in prototype phase with minimal if any articulation and tooling. If factory molds were made there would likely be more...
You're right from what I've heard. I know TRU has been hurting in recent years. Brick and mortar stores of all sorts are dying due to internet sales and tighter budgets. The case turns into – why get this at the local toy shop when it’s cheaper at Target? Then once at Target the selection is...
The doll thing is one of those weird technicalities that make sense to me. I don’t agree with it, but I understand it.
This answer I know. From the official reference files I’ve seen, Miss Piggy is not only shorter than Fozzie, she is a lot less bulky. That’s the most problematic bit is...
Catering to the lowest common denominator is usually a sure-fire thing. It's like McDonnald's food. It's fast, it's cheap, it's crude, it's standardized and it's profitable. But if you had a good choice would you settle for it or would you go somewhere better? Some say yes, some are too used to...
I have no doubt that this movie is a priority with Henson. It's just like the Fraggle Movie...keeps getting pitched and pushed back. It will happen. I just don't think they're in a hurry. Much of the Jim Henson magic and drive seems missing with the company today. But he was a workaholic. Few...
I don't fuss with my posers that much so sewn clothes is fine with me as long as the choices are good. I suppose this nixes the idea of different Piggy wigs? Please not the flat-iron platinum look.
Oooh. Now that's the info I'm used to hearing from you. Thanks. :super:
I was initially surprised that the MR clothes were removable. Not my first choice to sew them on, but it's easier to QC this way.
I just hope these won't be more expensive than MR. I remember thinking Kermit was...
