MN: (listening to hubbub in Claudia's room) But the effect is sadly temporary.
Storyteller: Sadly temporary. (sigh)
Nora: What on earth happened in there?
MN: Your guess is as good as mine. (gets up) I could use a bit of gelato right about now.
Nora: But I think the shops are closed...
Right; the film certainly had its moments, but to me it's always seemed rather bittersweet - and it certainly got off to a bittersweet start, with the "In Loving Memory" screen for Jim and Richard. I think that moment's stayed with me all my life.
And I've said this somewhere before, but when...
(there is a game of Scrabble in progress)
Storyteller: Ha! Double word score!
MN: Hey, wait a minute, that's not how you spell gribaziggy!
Storyteller: It's from the ancient Cave dialect!
MN: Yeah, sure, and your grandfather invented the leapstick!
Storyteller: Actually...(pulls out photo)
MN...
(glances up at a cloud, where Richard and Beverly are at the moment performing a duet) I'm sure you're right, heralde. And as it said in Jim Henson: The Works, "he could sing in almost any style and had a sure way with accents," even when he was an 18-year-old kid just getting going with the...
Happy birthday, Jerry, and many more!
And while we're at it, here's a virtual toast to the man who gave us Floyd, Robin, Gobo, Crazy Harry, the Trash Heap, Pa Gorg, the Count, Scred and so many others.
(chorus of groans)
Nora: Is it true that Bo's moving out?
Storyteller: It's what I heard, yes. His roommates are being reassigned.
Nora: We can't take Bean in, I'm sorry.
MN: Too right. (pause) Come on, Nora, let's see your new glasses.
Nora: (sighs, and puts glasses on)
Storyteller: Oh...
AP, Associated Press. Their stylebook is the grammar/spelling guide used by most newspapers and wire services in the U.S. However, the really major newspapers like the New York Times and the Washington Post have their own stylebooks.
Oh, another Muppeteer sighting...and it is a lot of fun to play "Spot the Muppeteer" while watching one of the movies or shows.
And you're right - it would be easy for Richard to escape being noticed, since he's sitting there, quietly listening instead of goofing off. But it's true; the Wiki...
(last night)
(group walks in, slurping up last little bits of ice cream - for Erin (MN), it's the chocolate-orange swirl, Nora's got the Transylvania Twist and Storyteller's got the radish crunch cake)
MN: Oh, man, that's good stuff.
Nora: Mmm, yes...ow, I've got an ice cream headache coming...
Here's some virtual tea and sympathy, Sara. (accidentally touches hot surface of tea kettle) Ouch! Who's got the aloe vera?
But seriously, here's hoping it all works out in the end.
That's rather sweet...sounds like Richard and Christine kind of had a big brother-little sister relationship...
(at table, over a dinner of leftover quiche, salad and gazpacho)
MN: From the sounds of it, they've put an APB out on Claudia.
Nora: I heard. She went AWOL earlier today.
Storyteller: No, perhaps closer to MIA.
MN: Sending out an SOS...
Nora: WTH?
MN: (warning note) Translation, please?
Nora...
MN: I've finished the scones, I've got a pan of brownies in the oven, and I'm prepping a nice big pan of cranberry bars.
Storyteller: There are three salads - garden, pasta and Asian-style - in the fridge, and I am preparing a nice big bowl of radish gazpacho.
Nora: I'll get going on the...
Just wanted to stop in and wish a happy 4th to all the U.S. RHLC (and MC)people, and to wish everyone else an excellent day in general.
Also meant to post this as well;
(up in heaven, two days earlier)
(Jim, Richard, Eren, Jerry and others are hovering near the Pearly Gates - they are all...
Nora: So what are we doing for the 4th?
MN: Hmm, what about a picnic down in the park, near where they're doing the fireworks?
Nora: Not too close...
MN: Yeah, I know what you mean, I'm freaked by loud noises.
Storyteller: And I hear Bunsen's going to go buy some firecrackers.
MN: Poor...
"What we do is what everyone else in the world wants to do, and that's to act crazy. Except we get paid to do it." I love that line.
And, yes, Miss Piggy does get awfully territorial whenever there's a "girl singer" on the show. Case in point: Linda Ronstadt.
Oh, and speaking of girl...
We've lost another TMS guest star - Beverly Sills died today at age 78, from complications of lung cancer.

Yeah, and Morley also called Scooter "a royal pain," and commented that Gonzo's got no talent. But it was fun to watch the Muppets heckling Morley for cracking up during the interview - and Mom said that he seemed lost.
That's good, heralde. I kind of picked it up as I went along. Mom kind of...
