That's okay, Ed, and thanks for the hot chocolate. (takes a goodly swig)
With the class of '07 gone, that means we're the seniors now (holy cow). And I'm already daydreaming about what it's going to be like when it's our turn to walk, though it's still a year off.
Mom's offered to help me...
They changed the order for this ceremony, Ed. At the start, they announced that due to the threat of rain, they'd cut right to the diplomas, but if the sun came out, they'd do the rest of the program after the degree portion was done.
Exactly what I was thinking. Someone up in heaven was clearly listening. ;)
However, some of the grads were disappointed that they'd have to sit through the speeches after all...but then, God has a sense of humor, and so do some of the angels.
Everything went well, heralde, very well. I was assigned to two rows of political science majors; had to direct them to their assigned seats in the field house and give them their tickets before we brought them out...and one of the grads-to-be thanked us for being such a help.
Got a bit of a...
MN: I think we've gotten a request to watch Maurice for a little bit.
Nora: Hmm...well...I suppose so...but you're going to be leaving for England in a week or so.
MN: That's right...well, we'll work something out.
Well, you gave it your best shot, Kate. I felt the same way when I got a so-so grade on one of my projects this semester. At least you got to write on something fun; I had to write on stuff like "Wuthering Heights" and ancient Egypt for my big term papers. And a B+ is still a really good grade...
Storyteller: Okay, the prawn's not come this way, so I guess we're safe. (sits down on sofa) Another long day?
MN: You bet. And it's going to get longer as the days go by.
Storyteller: Oh?
MN: Yeah, with college commencement coming up (at MN's IRL university, by the way), I've been assigned to...
Sounds great, Sara. But.hmm, I'd have to see what plans I have for June of '08. That's right after I'm expected to graduate from college, so I'd have to squeeze it in between job hunting or graduate school, whichever. But it'd be nice to see a bunch of the other RHLC-ers in person!
I agree...
Oh, for crying out loud...if there was any smoking shown, it would have been the humans doing it, and the kids wouldn't have been paying attention to them; they'd have been concentrating on the Muppets.
And in one episode of Fraggle Rock, Traveling Matt meets the mouthburning creatures...
MN: Of course - and that's why we got so nervous when Casanova started on the prowl. He was coming perilously close to our part of the dorms.
Nora: What? Pepe was out prowling?
MN: Yeah, but he didn't come in, so all's well for the time being.
Glad to be of help!
The head's in the wrong position for it to be Jim or Frank - it's off by the end of the table while the Chef is talking and picking up the bat. The hair's also a clue - of the five principal performers, Richard seems to be the only one with that kind of curly hair.
Storyteller: Grr...Sal, you won't let me sing, and then you and your buddies burst into song in there...why I oughta...
MN: Oh, drop it, Storyteller, it's no big deal.
Storyteller: (sigh) Oh, all right, all right. (sits down) Long day?
MN: As ever. Where's Nora?
Storyteller: Oh, she's already...
Me too. It's a fan club for Richard Hunt, but it's also a place for us to come and chat. So I think it fits just fine here.
Wow...the prospect of getting a new job and going back to college, plus eventually getting hitched...go for it, Sara!
Storyteller: Well, I hope there are plenty of attractive females in town to keep Pepe and his busy feelers distracted.
MN: Including that mysterious miss at the bookshop...and Nora, you still haven't...
Nora: I'm trying, I'm trying, but she's really secretive. (change of subject) Have they...
True, most fan clubs for the Muppet performers do go in the Henson People thread...but then again, the RHLC is not "most fan clubs."
Oh, Scooter wants to sing Six-String Orchestra, and nobody's letting him...sounds like our favorite gofer's in serious need of a hug.
MN: Heads up, ladies. We've got a Casanova in the dorms.
Nora: Oh, dear...it's Pepe, isn't it?
MN: 'Fraid so. But all the same, he's going to be a new resident, so no bouillabaisse jokes for the time being, okay?
Storyteller: But if you're nervous, Nora dear, you may borrow my can of pepperweed...
