Nora: But in the book, the squealer was some girl named Marietta.
Erin: Yeah, and when she did, her face looked like Vendaface had just gotten through with it.
Nora: Uh-huh - if Vendaface had a "really ugly zits and blemishes" option.
Erin: And I think it does - Beaker, stop zapping Claudia with...
Nora: Hey, Erin, you okay? We didn't see you at the party.
Storyteller: Yeah, what's going on?
Erin: I'm okay, you guys, I just had an upset stomach - and since it's been so hot lately, I think I might have had some heat exhaustion, too.
Nora: Ergh, that is not fun.
Erin: But did Prairie Dawn...
I've seen those before - it is really weird to hear the Fraggles speaking with different voices. I really liked hearing Dave talk about Philo and Gunge's origins - and how Richard came up with the rats' trademark "Nyeh!"
"We'll not risk another frontal assault. That rabbit is dynamite."
Crazy Harry: "Did someone say dynamite?"
And for the record (but I think you knew this already), the Richard who made the Holy Hand Grenade remark in my last post was Hunt.
Oh, can't you just see that happening on the set of TMS?
And I'd visualize them using the psychopathic-looking Bun-Bun Brother puppets - I think they appeared in season 4, but I'd have to check.
Jim: (to Richard Holloway): Of course, we could try...
(blood-curdling scream comes...
At one point, I think Kermit said, "I don't know who this Jim Henson guy is, but I know he's had his hand in a lot of things around here." Great, great line.
It's a lot of fun to see the characters from all the Muppet productions mingling with one another - but were the Gorch puppets invited...
Erin: Claudia, if Bunsen cooked it, you'd better not eat it.
Nora: Yeah, the poison control center's kind of backed up today.
Storyteller: Erin, bring her some of your clam chowder. I'll brew up a pot of potato and radish stew.
Nora: (aside) So, Erin, which stories did you show to Maurice? I...
(up in heaven)
Richard: Jim, give me back my board.
Jim: All right, but promise you won't make it point to anything controversial.
Ah, "The Honk of Honks." The episode that allowed Richard to add "director" to an already impressive resume. And it is kind of neat to see him at work both as a...
I agree - Red and Skeeter are both dedicated tomboys, with a strong sense of get-up-and-go, so Karen would have been ideal to play Skeeter. And it is fun to speculate about Skeeter appearing on a Muppet show in grownup form - it'd have added another strong female presence, and it probably would...
Let's see...lately I've been going through "The Secret Documents of Sherlock Holmes," by June Thomson, and "Gifts of Unknown Things," by Lyall Wilson.
I mentioned sometime ago that I was working on "The Eyre Affair," by Jasper Fforde. I finished it some time ago - it's about a detective in an...
Hmm, I suppose you could - I know of one cake recipe where you just stack a bunch of cookies in a pan and layer them with whipped cream, stick it all in the fridge and it'll form into a nice, trifle-y, mousse-y confection - but I've never tried it.
Let's see...the soon-to-be birthday boy is...
(in room 7)
Nora: (looks up from Scrabble board) It sounds like Kyle's back, better grab your things, Maurice.
Erin: It was really nice having you here, Maurice, and do come by and visit again, soon.
Maurice: Thanks a lot, guys, and I promise I'll drop in again. (heads for door) Bye, and take...
It's the same with my dad and my grandmother. When I was a kid, I often wouldn't be able to sleep on family trips because of that. So, on our trip to the UK last spring, I made sure to pack several pairs of earplugs. Worked like a charm.
Well, there is one topic I think needs to be addressed. (looks up at cloud) Richard, what kind of cake do you want for your birthday?
For the 16th of August is nigh on the horizon, don't you know.
(knock at door to room 7)
Erin: (opens door a crack) Maurice, is that you? (door opens wider) So it is! Hi, Maurice, come in, we've got the sofa bed made up for you.
Storyteller: There's soup and bread on the table, if you're hungry...
Nora: Yeah, and then we're all heading off to Dr. Teeth's...
Erin: (on phone) Uh-huh...okay, sure. Take care. (hangs up phone) Guys, start prepping the sofa bed, I think we're going to have company over the weekend.
Storyteller: Oh, how nice.
Erin: I've got a pot of clam chowder in the fridge, ready to heat up on the stove, and I'm going to make some...
(up in heaven)
Richard: (chuckle) Okay, I got them talking about Gorg diving and earthquakes, so what am I going to make them talk about now? (takes out a small board with a spinning arrow on it - the kind you'd use in Twister)
Jim: All right, Richard, what are you doing now? (looks at board...
"Are you sure this isn't another one of your dumb hare-brained schemes?"
"Oh, no, Pa, this is one of my smart hare-brained schemes!"
And I can easily imagine the Trash Heap, Philo and Gunge providing running commentary...or Jerry could do his Lewis Kazagger persona?
(Junior makes another...
