Oh, I'm definitely a Dire Straits fan. In fact, I'm listening to "Money for Nothing" right now; I've got "Brothers in Arms" playing on my stereo. When we went to see Mark Knopfler in concert a few years ago, he made sure to include that one in the set. Very cool...
I've got "Communique" and...
Nora: (groan) Did I just hear Pepe singing like he was God's gift to the female gender?
Storyteller: Unfortunately, yes...and how are your eyes feeling today, Nora?
Nora: Still a little sore in the temples.
MN: I called Dr. Lenzes and got you in for an appointment on the sixth...she says you...
I know...I'd been seeing Richard's characters on television since I was really little, but in most cases I didn't know it was him.
"Richard Hunt raised me..." that's a really nice way to put it. Let's face it, he's done something suitable for all stages of life. I mean, the very young set has...
I noticed that Scooter's more of a yellow ochre in season one, but by the time season five rolls around, he's definitely more orange.
And with Gonzo, you notice that his voice becomes less "squawky" as the show goes on.
"Gulp...I can only give you name, rank and serial number."
It's like I said earlier, either in this thread or somewhere else: none of us knew (or even met) Richard while he was alive, yet we miss him as if he was our best friend.
And seeing as he performed so many favorite characters in...
MN: Hmm, judging from the sounds of things, Don's giving himself another musical headache.
Nora: And I've given myself a book-related headache...ow.
MN: Another day sorting book files down at the shop?
Nora: Mm. And I accidentally put a bunch of romance novels up into the horror section.
MN...
Oh, Lord, if I'd been a teenage Muppet fan getting an out-of-the-blue phone call from none other than Richard Hunt himself, I think I'd go completely nuts.
I'm fond of Chris's article too, and I like the one about Josh and his sister watching Fraggle Rock, while trying to make peanut...
There are some interesting tidbits in the articles section - for example, according to Gabriel Velez, at one of the Muppet workshops, one of the students was a professional juggler, who had brought his pins with him. At one point, Richard asked if he could borrow the pins, went up to the front...
Then again, he does seem kind of reticent whenever he's asked to try some of Bunsen's new projects...
I'm sure we've all read the article that Chris Smigliano posted in the tribute section, the one about how he, as a high school kid, sent a long Beaker tribute letter (with artwork) to Richard...
Nora: Where's Storyteller?
MN: She's running some burn remedies over to Rowlf. The Chef made some wicked hot soup.
Nora: Ouch-o-rama.
MN: I hear that Sara's going through a rough time these days.
Nora: I know...we'll have to do something for her...maybe a nice big dish of cobbler or something...
Ouch...wow, Sara, you're really having a hard time of it these days. I'm sure your parents love you no matter what...but I agree, Mom needs to go a little easy on the fire and brimstone. It's your social life and spiritual life, after all.
Perk up; it's all going to be okay eventually.
I...
Nice to see you again, Sara. Wow...sounds like you're having a rough time of it. Be strong and hang in there, okay? :sympathy:
And long time no see, MBM!
About Oxford Blues...you know, it is odd, seeing a Muppet performer and a member of the Brat Pack interacting with each other on camera...
Nora: What is going on in there?
MN: Something about bread and hot soup. I just hope the bread dough's not attacking the Chef.
Nora: Which reminds me, Storyteller, didn't you start a batch of radish bread earlier?
Storyteller: Yes I did. Erin, get in here and help me form it into loaves, my...
I've only seen the last part of Muppets from Space - the big scene on the beach - but I remember thinking, "It's just not the same."
By the way - I had a Muppet-related dream a few nights ago. I think part of it involved several of the characters from TMS and SS going down into Fraggle Rock...
Oh, don't you know it. It's no fun having blocked-up sinuses on a seven-hour transatlantic flight...but on the other hand, they say that alder wood is excellent for making guitars, so I guess the tree does have a few saving graces.
I remember seeing Snuffy and Alice on Sesame Street when I...
Storyteller: Good heavens, what's going on out there?
Nora: Sounds like roller skating.
MN: What, are they holding auditions for Starlight Express or something? (goes to investigate) It's Grover and Big Bird...and Grover wants Big Bird to swing him around three times and let go, so Grover can...
Oh, man, Kate, I'm sorry...but cheer up, I think you'll get to go someday! (Don't feel too bad; there were some parts of the trip I could have done without, like my dad and brother holding us up for long periods of time to take pictures...and me having an allergic reaction to the alders up in...
MN: Marco...
Nora: Polo...
MN: Marco...
Nora: Polo...
Storyteller: Let's see, where'd I put my swim cap?
MN: Marco...what do you need a swim cap for?
Storyteller: Oh, it's the chlorine. It tends to turn my hair bright chartreuse. (digs around in bag, unearths thick rubber cap covered with...
