Or: "We gotta keep this little Potter guy a-WAY from this Voldemort dude."
"Well if this were the movies..."
JH: Which it almost is...
"We'd come up with a clever plot device."
R: (in Scooter voice, pointing to the Weasleys' car) Like disguising their car so they won't be recognized!
Nora...
Nora: Sure, Count, I'd be glad to. (puts money into purse)
MN: It's a weekend; the network's probably all clogged tonight.
Storyteller: Goodness...the release of a famous book, and people are on the computer tonight.
MN: Yeah, well, what can you do?
(up in heaven)
JH: (Dr. Teeth voice) This...
Yeah, if the mind just did ordinary, predictable things, it'd be an awfully boring world...and psychologists would be out of work.
It's 'cause the Muppet performers were fans of the Beatles, and it looks as if at least one Beatle (George) was a fan of the Muppets, I suppose.
(in room 7, Nora, wearing blue robes and a long indigo cloak, is anxiously pacing)
Storyteller: (dressed as the Wizard) Oh, sit down for a bit, Nora, you're not due at the shop for a while yet.
Nora: I know, I know. I'm just antsy about how it's all going to go.
Storyteller: Now, Nora, you're...
Storyteller: Now, then, how was everyone's day?
Nora: Still helping prep for the festivities at Coming Unbound. We had a few explosions in the new fiction section.
Storyteller: Hmm, a few spells going awry?
MN: No, it was probably Crazy Harry. As in the Muppet, not Belafonte or Potter. (pause)...
It's interesting - Jerry plays Crazy Harry as the trigger-happy pyro we all know and love, while Richard plays him as a cheerfully manic sort who ably squires Tanya around the dance floor.
R: If they want to do something constructive, why don't they head up to the Cape and try and find the...
I admit that I don't understand the press release's description of the film at all. We'll have to see how it all turns out - but I'm especially fond of the 1990s series, and most fans believe that to be the best adaptation of the books. It's a shame it won't be released on DVD in the U.S. for a...
Storyteller: Long day, reporter lady?
MN: Yeah, I've been out on assignment for a good part of the day.
Storyteller: But it looks like you still had enough energy to stop in at the bookstore before coming home.
MN: Ah, yes. My favorite place to part with my money. (leans back on sofa) Place is...
That's exactly what I was wondering. (looks up at cloud) Hey, guys, were any of you, by any chance, lurking around the Henson studios when the Ghost Hunters came to call?
JH: We weren't lurking, we were visiting.
R: I was going to drop a water balloon on the head of one of the TAPS guys...but...
Storyteller: So what'd you give Zoot?
MN: I gave him a biography of Charlie Parker, and a few jazz LPs from the music shop down the street.
Nora: (rummaging through trunk) I sent Bunsen some new Erlenmeyer flasks.
MN: Good, good...what's going on?
Nora: Well, there's going to be a big party at...
Nora: (reading paper) The Observer's running a huge article on Harry Potter today.
MN: That's right, it's part of a series. It's all for the countdown for Deathly Hallows.
Nora: Oh, I know. Mrs. Farley's had the Hogwarts displays and banners up in the shop for weeks.
Storyteller: And why...
I agree, the movies are good, but the books are better. And to answer everyone's questions, I did enjoy the movie, thought it a good psychological drama.
Of the books, I think the ones I like best are "Stone," "Prisoner," "Goblet" and "Phoenix." We're all anticipating "Deathly Hallows" around...
Happy birthday, Dave!
Oh, and in lieu of lighting candles on a cake, Gonzo's instead going to shoot himself out of a cannon while playing "Toreador" on the accordion.
Once again, happy birthday to the man who also gave us Bunsen, Beauregard, Zoot, Boober and many others!
Indeed we do...as for the "which voice" question, I now think he's channeling a bit of George there...
Oh, dear, I missed my chance to see Richard go for a swim in the treacherous, shark-infested waters of the NYSE. I also missed seeing Frank doing the corrupt cop bit. But I've got a valid...
C'est tres magnifique...oui, bien fait, heralde.
It sounds like you're doing well, Marty, and the SA does sound like a worthy organization to volunteer with.
I know the feeling, Kate. These days, I find that if I've got nothing to do, I find myself pacing around and feeling really, really...
(in room 7)
Nora: Lucky clovers, check. Fake rabbit's foot, check. Things arranged in sevens, check.
MN: Oh, Nora, it's nothing. There's nothing unlucky about Friday the 13. In fact, the last Friday the 13 was actually a very good day for me.
Storyteller: (coming into room with ice cream...
That was a nice one, and the Beetles do sound an awful lot like the Beatles. Let's see, which Beatle do you think Richard was channeling there? Personally, I'd say Paul.
See you Monday, heralde - and I'm going to be a little absent from the computer this weekend myself.
