I've never liked hearing a vacuum running. At least my apartment has only wooden and linoleum floors, so I can get away with just sweeping it every now and then. And I'll be honest - except for those times when I'm expecting company (usually my parents or the housing inspector), my apartment is...
There was a story that Amanda told a while back: whenever Richard was coming in from New York for the weekend, her mom would immediately bring out the vacuum, thus putting Amanda on high alert.
It said in 'Of Muppets and Men' that kids who were usually seen as hyperactive were completely...
I saw the movie a while back, but I've not read the book.
I'm the opposite; in most cases I've never met a book I didn't like (except for romances and all that treacly junk). My favorites are mystery, science fiction, fantasy and the occasional general fiction.
I just realized that I've...
There was a comment that heralde found on someone's MySpace or Facebook page a while back: the poster said that when he/she was in first grade, Richard brought Kermit and Scooter to visit the class. "It was the best day that decade ever saw."
And then, when Richard's niece was in the third...
Here's another one I just finished up: "First Rider's Call," by Kristen Britain. It's a fantasy novel with a shade of sci-fi. The heroine is a young woman named Karigan; she belongs to a group of royal messengers called the Green Riders. Their kingdom is under attack by a malignant life force...
I know...heaven knows there were plenty of misty eyes in the cathedral as it was. I mean, Frank fell apart during his eulogy for Jim, there were Muppet performers dabbing at their eyes with tissues, and while Richard held his own on stage, at one point during his second speech he had to stop and...
Yeah, I know - a perfectly good Richard-related dream ruined by my 10 different anxieties. It's like that one time, just after finals in college, I had a nightmare in which I dreamed I showed up completely unprepared for one exam and the professor wouldn't let me make it up.
But, yeah, we made...
Yeah, MTM is rough sledding sometimes, in terms of emotional content. And like I've said before, it's always Scooter's verse of "Saying Goodbye" that tugs at my heartstrings.
It's a good thing they didn't attempt that at the memorial service, or else they'd all be up on stage bawling...
Yeah, and the actions by themselves can carry a lot more dramatic weight.
About what Davis said, about characters like Sully and Beaker being seen as weird or static but actually having a lot more depth: it reminds me again of the fan letter that Chris Smigliano mailed to Richard years ago...
Nora: (on phone) Oh, hi, Ed. Yes, Heather palmed a bunch of order forms off on me. I'll run one right over...right, bye. (hangs up, grabs order form and goes)
Storyteller: Beige, you're going to be wired all night if you eat one more of those Sugar Rushes.
Beige: I can't help it, Storyteller...
I know - it was a real thrill when Steve told us that he was going to be interviewing Jane Hunt on the MuppetCast. He did a couple of interviews with her, one of which he taped and made into a DVD.
And about what you said about sort of meeting the real Richard because of the interviews - Steve...
Beige: Have you seen Scooter? I need to ask him something.
Storyteller: He went with Nora - she had to go set up some display down at the bookshop and he volunteered to help out. But where's Erin?
Beige: The library - a book she requested came in earlier today...(looks up at the sound of boxes...
Hi, Fluffets, and welcome to the forum. I'm guessing that you're a fairly recent arrival.
Richard played a wide range of characters, and I see that vettech28 has listed some of them up in post #18. Of his characters, my favorite is Scooter, and it's been said that Scooter is the one who most...
Thanks!
Chalk this one up under really wishful thinking, but I dreamed last night that Richard was making a school appearance in the town I write on for the paper. 'Course, in the dream I also had a terrible case of writer's block and deadline-induced anxiety, but that's par for the course.
I haven't had any time to go to the movies lately, to be honest.
It won't be out for a while yet, but I'd love to go see the movie version of The Adventures of Tintin.
On a related note, I'm pretty pleased that I was able to dig up one of the DVDs of the Nelvana series while I was in New...
Well, the chocolate in any form is nice, but I think the stores are jumping the gun by getting most of their Easter stuff set up so soon. After all, Lent only started last week - and between now and Easter we've still got St. Patrick's Day, of course.
And speaking of St. Patrick's, and...
