Well, if you love Richard's work, this is the place to be...and we've kept it up for 6,951 posts (and by my settings, 464 pages).

I know and I really never come in here and talk about my love for Ricahrd and his work. I really love his getting to meet his mom on the Muppetcast, and in a sence meeting the real Richard as well. My favorit Thing i think Richard ever did would have to be Beaker! I always loved him and the Swithish Chef, because I could not understand a word they said, and yet they still make me roll in the floor laughing.

I know - it was a real thrill when Steve told us that he was going to be interviewing Jane Hunt on the MuppetCast. He did a couple of interviews with her, one of which he taped and made into a DVD.
And about what you said about sort of meeting the real Richard because of the interviews - Steve said that when he and Jane were talking, and going through all the mementoes and memories, for Jane it felt as if Richard had come back.

Ah, Beaker...and it seems that he was one of Richard's favorites as well. "When this series is over, he's the one puppet I want to take home with me." And there is a Beaker puppet in residence at Jane's place in Closter...

Yea And Ya know im Glad that some of Richard's Muppets are still trying to be in the spotlight. Beaker Scooter and Janice, where a huge part of the Muppets, and now that more people are getting use to prefroming them I for one could not be more happier!

Yeah, I agree. Beaker especially is a popular favourite. And he's even appearing now without Bunsen. I loved how much he seemed to grow as a character when he had the girlfriend in the new Christmas movie.

Your So right Steve has really took Beaker and made him grow so much. I really loved his song on the second Studio DC almost live.

Wow, so many people, hehe. I really liked this part of TP's interview with Michael Davis:

I don’t know any other character who could perform a silent character as well as Richard.
Seriously, people so often write off silent characters like Sully, or characters who don't speak "normally" like Beaker. They're treated like static, impossible to understand, unless you take the time to notice.

Yeah, and the actions by themselves can carry a lot more dramatic weight.

About what Davis said, about characters like Sully and Beaker being seen as weird or static but actually having a lot more depth: it reminds me again of the fan letter that Chris Smigliano mailed to Richard years ago, resulting in a phone call from Richard himself. According to Chris, Richard said that not many people realize just how smart Beaker really is.

And then, of course, Richard had Beaker come to the phone so he and Chris could talk.:wink:
