Erin, hacking into a large butternut squash.
Storyteller: Hmm...Erin, watch how you handle that knife.
Erin: I know, I know...this thing's hard as a rock. (squash splits open) Okay, there we go. Someone want to pass the honey and nutmeg?
Nora, handing said items over.
Storyteller: Let's talk...
Yeah, I spotted him while I was on line to get my book signed. He shook a few hands and signed a few books before the security guys moved in. It was the same with the Hunts; I would have loved to talk with Jane again, but the security guys started nudging them backstage, too.
And it's...
Ugh...get well soon, okay, heralde? Drink lots of fluids - lots of soup and tea.
If Richard were alive and well today, and if he were able to attend the event, he'd be working the audience from the very beginning. I also wonder what puppet he'd have brought out with him?
And did you see...
Nora: Uh-oh...guys, I think Crazy Harry's going to set something off.
Storyteller: Everyone, find something that's breakable or fragile, and steady it like your life depended on it.
(everyone does so, as Crazy Harry's latest creation goes off)
Erin: (trying to hold up a slightly unsteady...
Just read it, and I got a grin out of it, of course. He's really lucky that he got to watch Richard in action on the set; I think that's something that pretty much every Muppet fan's dreamed about at least a hundred times. If I'd been there, my stomach would probably be hurting from laughter...
Loved what he had to say about Richard, and how he kept the crew in stitches both on and off-camera. (And I wonder just what he said when the cameras were off?) "I want to be that guy!"
I'm working on a couple of books right now. I'm still working on "The Snake Stone," and last night I started "The Wreck of the River of Stars," by Michael Flynn. Today, while I was in New York on my afternoon off, I found a shop specializing in French-language books, and I picked up a mystery...
Let's see, Violet Crumble...well, not too far from where I live, there's a shop that specializes in British foods - especially tea and sweets. I know Violet Crumble's an Australian import, but they might have it.
Barring that, there's probably a place in New York that carries it - want me to...
Yeah, Paley Center's definitely worth a visit or two. I also recommend the Metropolitan Museum of Art, St. Patrick's and St. John the Divine.
And my advice to you, since this is your first time, is to wear comfortable shoes and get a good map of the subways. Walking and the subway are the...
Thanks, heralde - like I said a while back, I was stifling quite a few laughs when I took in 'Muppets Go to the Movies.' And I'll bet Scooter, and by extension, Richard, relished getting to say, "No, you're the stupid one" to Link.
Hi, Sara, nice to see you back. And you're right; I didn't...
Yeah...as Don Reardon said in "Quilting with the Muppets," "We shared the belief that good-natured teasing was an act of love - we teased each other a lot!"
Sure, Richard could be loud and brash, and maybe a little too direct at times, but I sincerely believe that whenever a puppeteer or...
Beige: Finished version? Don't tell me there's another Storyteller running around here - your evil twin or something.
Storyteller: (coldly) He means the ice cream, Beige.
(oven timer goes off)
Erin: Crumb's up!
(during dinner, a dish of apple crumb had been in the oven, and a pint of...
(gang is having a late dinner: beef and barley stew, vegetables, and soda bread with butter and marmalade)
Storyteller: (pouring more tea into mug) Hmm, hmm...well, at the moment I am very partial to a good radish ripple with bonkleberry puree.
Beige: (slurping up some stew) Just don't eat the...
Well, they all went in to see Richard in the audition room one at a time, so Richard could take their picture and bark orders at them - Rob went in first, then Trish, then Gord. And they took turns carrying the suitcase of props they'd brought along.
When it was Gord's turn:
Richard: Are you...
Then again, in the audition phases for FR, Rob, Trish and Gord were the complete opposite of humble - they were doing their level best to hog the spotlight. Like I said earlier, those guys were practically the Three Stooges - and of course, Karen Prell pointed them out when she was describing...
Oh, yeah, how did the instructions go? "The air is my home."
And let's face it - Scooter's no idiot. But I'm wondering about Lew Zealand trying to see through the door with X-ray vision...
All in all, the Lynda Carter episode's a good one for Scooter. He's really at the center of the...
