(It's just the two Muppets in room 7, as the two Fraggles and the lone human are off elsewhere at the moment.)
Nora: (studying a script while sitting on a stool next to a puppet theater shaped like a castle) So they're thinking about doing this on the Muppet Show later on?
Scooter: (down...
Well, since misery loves company, I just battled through the usual rush-hour traffic, I have a screaming headache and I could use some chocolate right about now. ;)
And if I had a dime for every time I started worrying, I could easily afford a nice place on the Upper West Side.
Now then -...
Nora: (listening to Kim) That reminds me. (pokes head into kitchen) Erin?
Erin: (up to wrists in raisin bread dough) What's up?
Nora: Library called a few minutes ago; your BCCLS request came in.
Erin: Nice...let me get these loaves on to rise and I'll go pick it up. (punches dough, shapes it...
True - keeping the angst bottled up doesn't help at all. It's also rough on the immune system and everything else.
And what you said about parents having something to do with the bullying - I read a letter in the paper a while back, from someone who occasionally does walk-around characters at...
Same here; I've tried to repress most of my grammar school memories, but every so often one bubbles up and re-opens old wounds. Middle school's one of the worst times; it's a mixture of elementary school hijinks and high school hormones, fearful to behold. So yes, for me it was painfully...
Scooter: No, not the mahi-mahi - though I understand that's really good when it's grilled with lime and pepper.
Beige: So which fish is it?
Scooter: Um...it's humu-nuku...no, that's not it...
Erin: Hmmm...I read about that fish in one of the Magic School Bus books years ago. It's humuhumunuku...
It's okay, heralde - I'm sure everyone around here has had to deal with really unpleasant people every now and then (sometimes, usually now as opposed to then). And of course, our pal Richard had to deal with unpleasant people in his time - like those bullies who kept stealing his papers when he...
Beige: What's Lefty saying about a movie about fish?
Erin: Maybe it's "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
Scooter: Or maybe it's "Attack of the Killer Fish."
Nora: I think they just had a screening of that down at the movies.
Storyteller: And they're still trying to get the smell of fish out of...
Well, when I read the phrase, I thought of whether or not "wise" and "Muppets" belong in the same sentence.
Granted, there are some words, like "sane" or "normal," that don't belong in the same sentence as the Muppets, but as for wise...it depends on the context. Richard himself said that...
Scooter: (tuning up guitar) Where is everyone?
Beige: (shouldering accordion and testing a few keys) Let's see...Storyteller's off visiting her uncle - I think he's the dentist - Nora's off taking cookie orders to her sister and Erin's still across the river.
Scooter: Oh, yeah, she said...
Yesterday, it was sunny and 55 degrees. Today, it is 35 degrees, and snowing, so nature's confused around here.
On top of that, today's the vernal equinox - first day of spring.
"Oh, Gene Autry, I could never forget you." Richard is priceless in that sketch...priceless.
You know, that song could get a lot of husbands and boyfriends out of the doghouse if they forget their significant other's birthday, anniversary or Valentine's Day.
(night before)
(group has just had a big meal of stew, soda bread with honey and butter, vegetables, and berries with whipped cream)
(On the door, there is a sign: "Cead Mile Failte, unless you start singing Danny Boy.")
Beige: Is it true that a lot of bars ban that song on St. Patrick's...
Yeah, it's like Marty Robinson said: "God help you if you came into the Sesame Street set with any kind of attitude."
And you're right, heralde: Richard might have been a little abrasive on the outside but everyone knows that on the inside he was a really sweet guy, both to friends and to...
Hi, Ed - yeah, my brother and I have been KQ fans for years. On the first four games, the older ones where you had to type in the commands, we'd team-play: my brother would move Graham (or Alexander or Rosella) around, and I'd type in the commands. With KQ5 onward, we'd just take turns playing...
Beige: (looking at ladyfingers) Man, those women must have had edema or something.
Nora: (on phone) Hi, Ed, we got the order forms. You guys will get the cookies soon. (hangs up) In France, those cookies are called langues de chat - cat's tongues.
Storyteller: (chuckle) So instead of the cat...
Scooter: (at computer) Okay, so I've gotten rid of the troll, now what?
Erin: Remember the note in Dahlia's house? The one that talks about thinking backwards?
Scooter: Oh, right, right...
Beige: (munching on a few Sugar Rushes) So what are you kids playing over there?
Erin: King's Quest.
Beige...
Yeah, well, if you have Richard on the brain as much as we do around here, you've got to expect the occasional weird dream...and that one definitely qualifies.
I've had a couple in which they're all up to some kind of hijinks on the set, either TMS or FR, occasionally both.
