I loved the spots with Bobo the Bear.
Like the one where Larry King was trying to get in, but Bobo insisted he wasn't on the list. Then when Larry said his show was seen in 250 countries, Bobo called him a liar and said there were only 220 countries in the world(I may be off on the...
I remember that shetch. Simon came in and asked for a chicken sandwich. But instead of saying "chicken" he made a clucking sound, so Grover couldn't figure out what he was asking for. He brought out several different sandwiches. I can't remember them all, but one was a guitar sandwick, and I...
I know Kermit sang "Bein' Green" on both shows.
Lena Horne did "Sing" on the Muppet Show, which of course is a SS song.
And they sang the Sesame Street theme song on the Marty Feldman episode of the Muppet Show(not sure if that counts).
I loved the spot on the Muppet Family Christmas when they played Santa Claus in the Sesame Street Pagent. I loved Sam's reaction to it.
:attitude: Is nothing sacred?
That was also the one where Piggy was up in the box telling Statler and Waldorf what to like(they could like Bernadette Peters but had to hate Miss Mousy, who did the duet with Kermit).
After the grasshopper & ant sketch, they were laughing at it, and Sam came up behind them and yelled...
I always loved the word skits they would do when the two parts of the word slowly came together, and at the end they would both exclaim the word being spelled out. I always found that funny.
Johnny Fiama was a singer introduced on Muppets Tonight. He had a monkey for a personal assistant named Sal Manila(sp?). He was influenced by singers like Tony Bennett(who guest starred on MT) and Frank Sinatra.
Waldorf: I love french singing.
Statler: I love french fries.
Waldorf: French Fries? I don't get it.
Statler: Well, you didn't order any.
Statler: They don't write the old songs anymore.
Waldorf: Nope, they just write new ones.
Statler: OK frog! We watched the show.
Waldorf...
My memory is a little fuzzy, but I believe Cookie was hiding in this fortune telling machine, which promised a fortune, but instead of coins, it took cookies. Ernie saw the machine and dropped his bag of cookies in. You can hear Cookie Monster eating the cookies in his usual fashion inside, and...
Waldorf: Wake me when the show starts.
Statler: It's already been on a while.
Waldorf: Oh <pause> wake me when it's over.
W&S: Boo! Boo!
Sheep: Baa! Baa!
W&S: Humbug! Humbug!
Statler: Does this show count as cruelty to animals.
Waldorf: Not unless they're watching it.
Waldorf...
As mentioned, he looked the same except for the sunglasses. And he seemed much more laid back on the JHH than he was on MT. He didn't seem to get excitable as easily.
You may be thinking of the Jim Henson Hour. There was a band on the show(I forget the name) and Clifford was in the band. I don't recall what instrument he played.
I believe she was also in an early episode of Friends, where she was the receptionist at a hospital when Rachel needed something(I can't remember what). Monica let her use her name for the insurance, but they kept changing their minds and kept going back for forms to fill out, annoying Alaina's...
CTS here in Canada is currently running the first season, and we are getting the updated version of the theme song as well. While I can appreciate wanting to improve the look of the show, I really wish they would air the original openings. I can only hope that if/when they release full season...
The one where he hypnotized himself to lift the 5000 pound weight, but woke himself up while still holding the weight. He had some great lines with Statler and Waldorf.
Gonzo: It's just a question of mind over matter.
Waldorf: That's right, you don't mind and we don't matter.
Gonzo: You'll...
Remember when Grover would always run up to Kermit and yell "HEEEYYY FROGGY BABY!!!" and then slap him hard on the back to which Kermit would double over?
