Chapter 4
Here is Chapter 4. Enjoy!
Kermit saw her walk through the door and couldn’t believe his eyes. There she was, this beautiful lady pig in a dress that could kill and gorgeous, long blonde hair, even more beautiful than she was earlier. The best part of it was, she was there to see him!
“Oh wow! Good evening, Miss Piggy. You look lovely tonight!” said Kermit as he shot up right out of his chair and tried very hard not to stare.
“Thank you”, said Piggy as she walked gracefully to the table. “I’m so sorry that I kept you waiting” she said while trying to give him a coy look full of innocence
“Oh it was worth it”, said Kermit as he stood behind her to grab her chair
“How charming of vous”, said Piggy, trying to hide her excitement. She was very glad that he was helping her to her seat. She was so nervous that if she didn’t sit soon, she probably would have fainted.
Once they were seated, Kermit turned on the charm and suavely said, “I uh took the liberty of ordering us some wine”. He pointed to the silver ice bucket chilling the wine from across the table.
“Ooh, how lovely!” said Piggy. While Piggy was looking at the ice bucket, Kermit was frantically searching for the waitress. Luckily, he spotted her not too far away.
“Oh, excuse me, waitress?” said Kermit, motioning for her to come over.
Arianne quickly came over to their table and in her sweetest voice, said “Yes sir? How can I help you?” flashing a million dollar smile for the couple.
“The uh, the wine please”, said Kermit, trying to be suave but not condescending.
“Oh, of course” she said, with a little too much excitement. Geez, even she was nervous for the frog, she thought to herself. She took the bottle of wine out of the ice bucket, wiped it off with a napkin she had handy, bent down and showed the bottle to the two of them.
Piggy quickly spied the bottle and squealed, “Oooh, you mad impetuous thing, it’s champagne!” he bought her champagne! He actually bought her champagne. She felt more special at that moment more than when she was crowned Miss Bogen County.
“Uh, not exactly” said Arianne. “It’s Sparkling Muscatel, one of the finest wines of Idaho!” she thought honesty was important in maintaining a new relationship, but didn’t think it would hurt to embellish a little.
“You may serve us now please”, said Kermit, trying to hide the little smirk on his face after he saw how delighted Piggy was.
“Oh, may I?” said Arianne with the tinniest hint of sarcasm. She wanted the frog to do well on his date but there was no need to act too chauvinistic. She started to take the foil off of the top of the wine bottle, trying to get it all off at once instead of in tiny little pieces.
“Ooh, look how she does that” said Piggy, obviously impressed with the technique.
“Yeah” said Kermit, giving Arianne a sweet look as if trying to say, I really appreciate this. “Very lovely” He also admired her technique. She had to have done this before. The waitress couldn’t help but smile.
“Vous were flirting with that waitress, weren’t you!” said Piggy, obviously concerned.
“Piggy, you not supposed to interrupt a flashback!” said Kermit “You completely ruined the flow of the memory!”
“Well what kind of memory was that? Vous was definitely flirting with that waitress on our FIRST DATE!” said Piggy
“I was not! If you remember earlier, she was trying to help me make a good impression”, said Kermit. The waitress was very pretty, but he only had eyes for Piggy that night.
If only he would just tell her that, says the writer to herself, knowing that she shouldn’t but alas, she simply could not resist
“Oh, right” said Piggy. She did remember that. “But, I see how you conveniently cast a male to be the waiter for the movie!” she snipped back.
“We needed a role to give him. We promised him a cameo and it just seemed like the perfect fit. You have to admit that he was funny as the waiter.”, said Kermit. “And besides, I could have found the waitress that served us and asked her to play her part in the movie to keep it accurate”, chirped Kermit “I’m sure she would have done it. It would be nice to see her again anyway, that miss, what was her name, Marianne I think it was” That will get her to stop complaining
“It was Arianne, sheesh did he pay attention?, and no, Stevie did just fine as the waiter” Piggy had no intention of brining that waitress anywhere near Kermit. She was a very nice person, but Piggy was not the woman to take any chances where her frog was concerned. “Now where were we in our date, Kermie?”
“I believe that Arianne was about to pour the wine for us, before you so rudely interjected” said Kermit despite the alarm bells going off in his head.
“Watch it frog!” said Piggy. They both tried to picture the date where they left off….
