Part 24...
Beth craned her neck back to speak with Felicia and Wanda about something when she noticed...
Beth: "Hey Kim..."
Kim, from the seat next to her: "Yeah?"
Beth: "Wasn't Betty Lou with you?"
Kim: "Yeah..."
Beth: "Well, she's not there now."
Kim: "Huh?"
Indeed, she turned her neck to look at the row behind her as well, and all of the SS gang had left, which was why the Muppets' family members had settled in the row nearer to the Hensonville crew, instead of remaining in their originally assigned seats.
When word reached the rest of the Hensonville gang, looks of wonder crossed their faces.
Bryan: "Wonder where they went to."
Kyle: "They're probably just taking a bathroom break."
Kathy: "All of them together?"
Sara: "Yeah, I'm a bit worried."
Lisa, looking up from her notebook: "Huh? What's going on?"
Angie: "I'm sure they'll be back soon."
Diana: "Yeah, it's not like they'd miss out on the finale."
The Newsman stood behind his desk, the walls of screens behind him. All eight screens had a different news report in full view, one in particular capturing the camera's focus.
Newsman: "This is a Muppet News Flash! We take you now live to the Planet Koozbane, where our intrepid reporter Kermit The Frog has an update for us regarding current events."
Through a subtle cloud of dust effect, the scene dissolved to Reporter Kermit huddled next to the Planet Koozbane base. Two Merdlidops had their heads stuck out through the base's lower surface, surveying the scene before them.
Reporter Kermit: "Hi-ho, Kermit The Frog here, reporting from the Planet Koozbane. And unless I miss my mark... Yes, here come the Koozbanians now, just about to start their mating ritual."
The Male Koozbanian Creature approached the base, shouting his traditional "Hargy".
The Female Koozbanian Creature emerged, laughing at the male's attempts.
Reporter Kermit: "Yes foks, I think she likes him."
The two Koozbanians greeted, courted, and then separated from each other walking to the far ends of the stage.
Reporter Kermit: "Well folks, I think... Yes, we're just about to witness... The Koozbanians have reached their points, they're turning, and here we go... They're going to perform the Galleo-HoopHoop ritual!"
Male Koozbanian: "Galleo!"
Female Koozbanian: "HoopHoop!"
The two aliens rushed in their own inimitable fashion towards each other... Faster and faster, screaming their cries at the other... Until they meet with a deafening explosion in the center, leaving a few confused Baby Koozbanians asking for their mommy.
Reporter Kermit: "There you have it folks."
The ripple effect worked its magic once again, returning us to the Newsman still behind his desk.
Newsman: "Thank you Kermit. In other news... Opening umbrellas indoors, though usually considered to be an old superstition today will prove to be lucky, especially after today's forecast of sudden showers sparked inside the Muppet Theater."
The Newsman looked at his papers, Scooter's clipboard in actuality, with a bit of an incredulous look...
Newsman: "Where do they keep coming up with these..."
Count: Ah ha! That's 1 weird news story!"
And of course, since he was finished counting, his traditional thunder and lightning cued up instantly afterwards, timed alond to coincide with a bucket of water tipped directly over the Newsman himself.
The crowd delighted to see this turn of events... As the finale neared ever closer.
