Redwings In Love.

Fabulous true story about redwing hawks trying to nest and live in Manhattan and the hardened, sophisticated New Yorkers who fall in love with them. Not a new book, maybe 8-9 years out now, any library would have it. A Great Book.

Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them was roll on the floor hysterical one moment and rage-inducing the next. The man has a gift for parody and irony that has managed to turn me Kermit-green with envy.

Interestingly, Franken sites all of his sources, which is something many authors of a political nature don't do. They can have a tendency to make accusations and not back them up with facts - Ann Coulter is famous for this- but Franken is very thorough. He even includes keywords he used in his Lexis-Nexus searches.

Anyway, it's a great book for those who are fans of political humor and/or those just not satisfied with the folks currently holding office in Washington DC.

Well, yes, he was one of those Tormented Brilliant Talents, as so often happens in the arts.
Like Holderlin, who ended his days insane in a tower. It's a pretty yellow tower overlooking one of my favorite rivers though. Hey, maybe that wouldn't be so bad after all.

Best book ever written: Animal Farm

Great plot, believeable characters, and biting satire. An all around wonderful novel. I suggest anyone who hasn't read it to do so, and anyone who has do so again.
