Unfortunately, no. I wasn't very big on carrying a camera around in those days. I do, however, (completely off-topic) have pictures of the first time I went to visit Sesame Street. But that's because my friend that went with me brought his camera. I have a picture of me picking Bert up off a...
I got to see Moe live at a personal appearance in the early 70's. It was really cool. In one way, it was a bit weird because he was doing routines by himself that he used to do with two partners, but in it's own way, it was still very exciting!
:p
Yikes! I was going to just stay out of this... but my judgement seems to be impaired this afternoon... so, I'm jumping into the fray.
There are already multiple Mickeys running around the theme parks. I haven't heard anyone complain about him being in two (or three or ten) places at once...
Curly-Joe was in all the feature films starting in 1958... like "The Three Stooges in Orbit" and "Have Rocket, Will Travel". He was a vaudeville comedian, but as a stooge, I thought he had no personality at all. At least Joe Besser had a funny personality, just not one that fit in with the...
Favorite stooge? That's like asking who's your favorite child!
I can do it backwards, though...
My least favorite stooge is Joe Besser, followed by Curly-Joe DeRita.
And while we're stating the obvious, did you know that Moe, Curly and Shemp were brothers in real life? And that Shemp...
Actually, this is a phenomenon (phen-a mehna... dee dee de dee dee) of old TV cameras called "burn-in". The bright curtain rod behind Animal has burned-in to the camera tube, making it a "permanent" image. As Animal moves in front of it, you can still see the curtain rod at the same time...
No. Most of the people doing the main Sesame Street puppets only had one character. One person had Bert, one had Oscar, one had Cookie Monster, one had Grover. I can't say for certain, but I'm sure a few of the others, like The Count, also were one person-one character.
:p
Thanks for all the great birthday greetings and thanks for making me feel so welcome and so at home here.
I hope that someday we can all meet!
Sincerely,
Was Once Ernie (aka Earl)
:p
I wrote an episode of "Duck Tales", but it looks like it's not on this set, if that list is right. :boo:
I hope they put out another set with more episodes.
:p
I'm sure they'll eventually get around to almost everything. It seems to me, though, that Ruff and Reddy is probably the most obscure and likely one of the last things they would release. I have it on fairly good authority that Quick Draw will be in the next wave. I have heard talk about...
Hey Gang...
You must have missed the other thread. I worked on all these sets. The Huckleberry and Yogi sets have the coolest bonus material you will ever see!
The Jonny Quest set came out like two years ago and was the complete "First Season", which is all of the original run of the...
A-men to this! I'm constantly fighting this battle in the writing of TV cartoons. I've turned down jobs when I needed the money because they weren't paying enough. And yes, there's always someone else who will come along and do it for that price, but at least I feel good about myself. If...
Unless Steve and the other guys have contracts, there's nothing to stop them from doing this. But then, I don't know what the terms of the Disney deal are. Is the Henson family still involved at all? Do they have any say over who performs the characters? Maybe they do and that would stop...
Well, actually, I think this is right. If they can replace Jim Henson, then they can replace anybody. Would you rather the characters die with their creators? As long as there's money to be made, the characters will be kept alive. They're not doing it out of some desire to please the fans...
