That's great! I don't know if I've ever met anyone else that remembers Captain Noah! (Except my friend that worked with him at WPIX).
Mrs. Noah was the puppeteer on the show and she was terrible. She would just kinda shake the puppets like they had palsy when they were supposed to be...
The surprise was...
I brought a photo album of 8 X 10 behind the scenes pictures of the first time I visited Sesame Street in the early 70's. There are pictures of Jim and Frank working Guy Smiley and Grover, and Bert and Ernie and one of me manhandling Bert. Well, touching him anyway (but...
I just wanted to chime in here with a "Me, too!", "Me, too!". I also had a great time meeting everyone. And I agree with Jinx, it's a shame there wasn't more time to mingle. I think we practically closed the restaurant. There was only one other couple eating in the main dining room when we...
If we do something at Comic-Con, it has to be Thursday or Friday night. I have a standing business dinner every year on Saturday night. (Gee, I wish they'd let us sit!)
:p
It was called "The Wireless Anything Goes Notebook". Davey also made some guest appearances on a Philadelphia kid's show called "Captain Noah and his Friends". And he once appeared on "The Easter Seals Telethon".
:p
It's my own original character. His name is Davey Simpson and I performed him on television on the East Coast before I moved to Los Angeles. He does look a lot like a Muppet, but not any specific one.
:p
Speaking of Muppetvision...
Has anyone noticed this? Near the end when the archers shoot their bows, a real arrow sticks in the box below Statler and Waldorf. I swear I saw this at the one in Walt Disney World, but have never seen it here in California Adventure. Does anyone know if they...
It's probably annual rehab. Every ride and attraction in both parks gets closed down once a year for refurbishing. It's one of the things that makes Disney Disney... that they keep up their attractions.
Although that wasn't true during the 90's when there was different management there.
:p
Because they're finally doing something with the dreadful Superstar Limo ride. They're turning it into some kind of Monster's Inc. ride and it's right behind the location where Rizzo's was.
I was there on Sunday, too. I didn't realize Muppetvision was closing. I'm glad I saw it again!
:p
Congratulations! And welcome to the very small club of those of us who Were Once Ernie!!
:p
P.S. I know yours was only an audition, but there are still very few people who have even been allowed to put on the puppet!
Well, they had them listed on the other article, but I just went back to look and the post seems to have disappeared. I think it was Kermit, Gonzo, Big Bird and maybe Rowlf. If it isn't Rowlf, it should be. Actually, it might be Piggy. I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure the first three...
Well, now that the cat (and the frog) are out of the bag via that article, I can report that I have actually already seen the sculpture. I peeked behind the drape when I was at the dedication for the Hanna-Barbera sculpture. From what I could see, it looks very nice. The choice of characters...
