Oh... and P.S... You won't be seeing any of the "auditioned" puppeteers any time soon. Not only do they still have the Toronto auditions to do, but after the "chosen ones" have been selected, they are going to make them go through a workshop, according to Martin Baker. :p

No, it was Steve on Extra. When they were taping the little bumper with Kermit at the stamp ceremony, I heard them say something about going to the studio, which I didn't understand at the time, but was obviously about Kermit co-hosting on set. :p

Coming home just now, it looks like the entire Burbank hillside is in flames... and yet, they're running sports on the news, so I guess it isn't that bad. :p

Speaking of people who wrote for the Muppets, on a happier note... Two weeks ago, I met Jack Burns! I swear I thought he had passed away. I vividly remember hearing about it. But there he was in the flesh and looking good. His hair is all white now, but that's still better than being dead...

The Screen Actors Guild calls them Background Actors and in the current contract, they make $122 a day for 8 hours, overtime after that. Special Ability, which can include anything from juggling to just having a character name (like the example of Morn in the last post) gets you $132 a day...

I don't know if Jim wrote left-handed, but he definitely puppeteered right-handed. That does basically make all the puppets left-handed... that is, until the puppeteers became proficient at working two rods with one hand. And technically, the puppets with working hands are right-hand dominant...

Mike Polis from The Henson Company told me this morning before the Wall Sculpture dedication, then Brian announced it during the stamp ceremony. He said, as someone else on here did, that at least Jerry and his Dad were together again.
