    Fraggles in Water

also there are puppets built for use only in water since it tends to fade the dies in the fabric after a time, so the ones u se in water are not the same as the ones you see all drie running aroound the rock, it would be almost impossible to use the same puppets on set for water tricks and basic...

    Foam blocks?

no , but only because beakers head isnt made of foam, not evry puppet has a foam base, take a close look at his head and see if you can find a sutible shape for it ;)

    Foam blocks?

that sanding method seems a little dicy to me, home depot has a nice five inch table top belt sander i prefer to use that, i would be to worried about holding foam in one hand and a drill in the other but the paintimg of foam works great, u might want to get some "sculpt or coat " to...

Some advice from you wonderful people please!

looks right to me, but im not sure how thin or thick those are, im pretty bad with wire gauge numbers, for so see if you can find out how thick they are, for a basic puppet you will want something sort of in the middle, not to thick (shows up much more while performing), not to thin(wont support...

    Mopatop and Hoobs

the point i am making is that fraggle rock is a kid show as well, yet it had a lot more as far a personality and warmth go, i think it is rather defeatist to say that there is nothing that can be done about this, the real problem here is that along with the phsyco babble that the producers...

    Mopatop and Hoobs

i think again we will have to agree to disagree , but basicly my point is that , parents are using tv as a babysitter much more than they ever did, its sad really.for me watching the muppet show or fraggle rock was a treat, after homework and chores had been done, sitting there with the family...

    Building Apple puppet

its all in the covering, they also used something called flock glue , which was used as the base for flock fibers like on the pig heads , it is a dries to a flexible rubbery skin, and is great for covering raw foam that you want protected, unfortunetley it is not avalible to the general public ...

    Gonzo puppet

i think buck and i are in agreement on this, besides you will not find reall muppet patterns any were online, they are all owned by the henson /disney companys, besides dont you think it is a bit unreasonable to expect to get a detalied puppet pattern for free?, seriously, we the folks who...

    Mopatop and Hoobs

the time difference thing was directed more at MOPATOP, however i hate this notion of people having to write in the style of today because its what kids want, its not what kids want its what adults want, because they listen to some physcologist, or whats have you, so every thing gets written...

    Mopatop and Hoobs

well aside from the obviuos lack of quality writing on these shows they are also filmed with weird time differences, were here in the states ashow is normaly about 28 minutes long, in the uk they often have shows that alst about 10 to 15 minutes, so they dont quite fit into our standard tv...

    Building Apple puppet

thats a good idea as well , but might be a little expensive and complicated for a beginer, you could also take a pattern of a real apple, drapping the way you would clothing , then enlarge those patterens on a copy machine or on your computer, trace them onto the foam, and develop the mouth...

    Building Apple puppet

Why not scultp it, start with a block of foam, big enough to put your hand in , and the create a round flat apple pattern that fits the block of foam , and is the right size for your apple(maybe a little bigger), then trace it on two sides of the apple, use a electric knife or a bread knife, and...
