How do they store the Muppets?

They maybe do (or did) but those are very old photos from the `70s I think. I store puppets the same way, the trick to avoiding any damage or malformation is not to squish or stretch the puppet while storing it. Usually every medium to large sized puppet I own has it's own box. If you pile...

RIT or Tintex is probably most common. In my experience RIT is ok but Tintex is not so great when you compare the results to other dyes. I don't think most people use Aljo, but it's definately the best.

Don't use Rit, use Aljo. There are a couple of threads about it.

    Puppet on Ebay

At the risk of making a gross cultural generalization, those Russians definately know how to build puppets. The Czechs too.

French Muppet Show possibly in the works

I actually think that producing a region-specific show is a good move for Disney. The Muppets are arguably more popular and well-known outside of the U.S. now than in it. For example, if you could produce a show in China (where Disney is starting make inroads) that would be huge. The Japanese...

Tztz, Are there any websites with more of Maria's (is that the builder's name?) work? Her puppets look great!

    Chimp TV...lost footage

Jusy a general comment, this kind of thing happens a lot. The nice thing about digital is that you can "clone" everything so there is a back-up.

    Jellyfish.com--CGI..Puppetry..or both?

...but some of us are working on it. I concur with Foz though, puppets shot against blue or green screen with a CG background. Thanks for sharing this Shaver!

    Chimp TV...lost footage

That's too bad...at least you have the source tapes, right? I ended up losing most of the episodes of the first web series I did because the company that sponsored the show (and owned the masters) went bankrupt in the dot-com bust and as the bankruptcy proceeded they completely lost track of...

Like a puppet with NO strings :o

I assume this is a marionette and if so what you need to do is restring it. There are a number of good books on this, try checking your local library. Another option would be to try emailing Jim Gamble, who might be able to help you. Jim is a very nice guy and extremely knowledgable when it...

More and More Fake Muppets For Sale

The BBC has an interesting article about problems with enforcement and ebay, most of it deals with fraud and users' accounts being hijacked, but it also mentions that it can take up to five days to get auctions of bootleg/unauthorized items removed - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4533154.stm

    Statler and Waldorf Puppets

Just to clarify the issue, these are the exclusive rights a copyright holder has in regards to a work (in this case the Statler and Waldorf puppets) and only the copyright holder (in this case the Muppets Holding Company) has the right to do the following with the puppets: The right to produce...

French Muppet Show possibly in the works

Has anyone else heard much about this project? There were rumblings about a pilot being shot for a French channel recently and now Jim Hill Media has mentioned it - which doesn't make it true - but Disney has registered http://www.lemuppetshow.com which right now takes you to a Disney Online...

    Open Source Puppetry Project

Thinking about it, Flash video is probably the easiest, most bandwidth-efficient format since it's cross-platform and doesn't require codecs. I would be willing to encode Flash video for people if that's needed since I know not everyone has access to Flash video encoders.
