Very true, I learned a long time ago not to complain or vent too much at people. It turns them off and makes you feel even worse!
Interesting how this has become something of a psychology thread! lol
(and no you're not naive, Skye, who would say that? Hehe)
One of my teachers once told us how other countries often think we're disgusting for eating things like hero sandwiches, lol.
But...but...they're so good!
Yes, Americans eat everything in huge portions, lol. (Not every single person of course. Just like not every single Asian is long lived, that's a generalization obviously :) ).
I agree, in the past we just weren't in the know about these things. Now we're given at least a partial look into the process of producing movies and DVDs, and we're a little spoiled. :halo:
Yeah it's weird that there's often two schools of thought on this. Some people are always optimistic, while others are always negative. You really just need a balance. You can't be so optimistic to the point of being naive (not that you are, Skye ;) ). But you can't be too depressing either...
Yeah, I used to think that made a lot of sense. But I started to realize I was causing myself unneeded stress. Sometimes you just have to buck up and hope for the best! Sometimes things won't work out, but at least you were brave enough to take the chance. :halo:
That's very true, we don't realize how much power we have over our own lives. If we constantly get depressed or defeated, that's how it will often end up. If we try and be positive, we can make things better. Of course, disapointments will happen, that's a given. It's how you handle it that...
I get what you're saying. I said before that being negative can often be comforting. I should have added that that doesn't mean it's right. It's true that you won't get hurt as much if you anticipate the worst. But it also means you won't get to experience the good in life, because you were too...
Yeah, that's something I need to work on. I always thinks bad things will happen, even though I'm proven wrong most of the time. As weird as it sounds, it's more comforting to think the worst than take a chance and be positive.
Yeah, I put that down as one of my favorites before, I love that musical! Its use of words is amazing (clearly people had larger vocabularies back then!)and the humor is so strong. I've had the movie version with Kevin Kline (and Louise Gold) for years. I also saw an older version years ago...
Yeah I don't know why they made that line so hard to hear, hehe. But when I watched the movie recently, I heard that song title. You can just barely hear him say garden at the end, but it's there. And then when I looked it up on the web, other websites posted the same quote. It makes sense, they...
I used to think it was something like "road mark" as well, but several movie sites also quote Oscar as saying the "rose garden" comment.
You're right, it is hard to chose between "One Little Star" and "You're Gonna Be a Star"!
Yeah, that's the CTW one I posted earlier in the thread. Like I said, the robots are taking over the world!
Yeah, that 97 one is goofy and harmless...don't like it as much lol
The Lord of the Rings books (and to a certain extent the films) are known for having Christian themes (JRR was Catholic). A lot of people don't realize it, they are very subtle and sophistication, not all in your face and obvious. Frodo effectively sacrifices his life by carrying the ring...
The aliens have landed! We're doom!!!
Oh man, I used to watch Zoobilee Zoo, it was so strange! I admire the actors for wearing those crazy get ups! lol
