Yeah, thanks, Count! I'm sick right now and can barely eat anything so virtual food is a welcome change. ;)
...though I'm going to add alfalfa sprouts again. I always try to introduce them and no one's ever interested, lol. :flirt:
I remember both of those, I liked Little Koala better. I saw a copy in my video rental store, I should check it out. I wasn't as crazy about Maya, but I'm glad someone else finally remembers it!
Well, it depends on what you call "everybody." A lot of people on this board dislike Elmo's World (I'm not saying "Elmo", it's his own little segment that I don't like). But we don't really represent the general public or "everybody." From what I've seen, the general public likes Elmo's World...
Funny, I usually never follow trends, I mean never. That's part of the reason I dislike Elmo's World, it's partially about popularity. Honestly, I think the general public wasn't even aware of KYS. Not trying to insult it, that's just my opinion.
I don't think I really had a favorite. But definitely, I love a lot of Richard's songs, especially "Letter B." Chris and Joe were amazing talents. And nearly everything with Bert and Ernie!
Of the humans, I think I enjoy Bob's voice the most. He seems to embody Sesame Street's spirit the...
I think they were primarily trying to get across a point. The Fraggles aren't used to the idea of one of them being kidnapped (thumped by a Gorg perhaps but that's a little different) and they live such a care free happy life they don't always know when to take things seriously (a big contrast...
Well technically, Christians aren't a minority in America at least, it's just that the religion is not always very well respected. But being a Christian is a lot more than just going to Church (though it is very important). Christianity is a way of living your life. And it's not an easy way, it...
Another thing about diversity, it also includes the Muppet characters. There are monsters on the show, some of which are often frightening, at least at first glance. Kids are always taught to be afraid of monsters. But Sesame Street teaches not to judge someone by their appearance or heritage...
Hi Count, well I did buy Volume 13. I didn't take most of them because, as I say, I wanted the kids to have a shot too. :)
On The Count's Counting Page in Volume 13, there's a swirl of different colors with different numbers on them. The Count says,
"Greetings, my friends! It is I, the...
Very true. Most kids shows want to shield children from the world, provide a happy cute fictional world, with no substance. Sesame Street didn't shy away from such things, they offered hope. Again, I'm not sure that's as true now, but that's not what your paper is discussing. :)
I don't think the advertisements for jewelry and stuff are a guilt trip for singles, it's to con couples out of their money! That's what we do with every holiday, get people to spend their money, this is a capitalist society, hehe.
Interesting idea! Though just wanted to point out the show debuted in 1969, not 1970. :)
And other good sources would be going to the library and looking up Child Psychology books, they often discuss children's media. It's good to interview fans though (if you do quote me, please just say "a...
I really don't want to care what other people think of me. If I want to send a Valentine to "just a friend" I'll do it. The shallow emphasis on romantic love does bring the holiday down occasionally, but I don't let that ruin my holiday. :)
