Nah it's not the government, heh, not directly anyway. It's the Capitalist system, whatever makes more money comes first.
And yeah the Muppets always tried to mirror the current culture, while maintaining its own identity. But these days, the culture has taken a nose dive.
Wow, yes that does seem like a very serious situation, MN. Well, at least you know you have an active student government, even if it doesn't always make popular decisions. Some places, you barely know they're there, which is just as frustrating. Being a journalist is a good profession, so keep...
Exactly, like I said, there's a difference between mature humor and immature humor. They are not the same thing.
As far as the character's evolving, of course they have changed in the past and there's nothing wrong with that in itself. However, another side of the argument is that characters...
Oh yeah the Wizard's definitely a bit of a jerk, hehe. It's just the song that's admirable, lol. I always liked the ending when the Fraggles are crowded around him saying he played a horrible trick and doesn't he want to change. And he dryly says "Flattering with get you nowhere!" For some...
Yup, I have heard Mr. Bassman, it is a great number. Richard has an amazing singing voice, I think people don't always realize that. They just take it for granted when they hear the characters (the same with Jim when he sang I think).
When I listen to Mr. Bassman, I feel like Scooter sounds a...
I hadn't heard that before, but that makes sense. And it's a shame. It could have been a much better movie.
Heh, I wouldn't have cared that much if Snoop Dog was in the movie. But if it were my movie (which of course it wasn't hehe), I wouldn't have included him. It's true that not all...
See I just don't see the Muppet Babies as kiddie stuff. They were much more creative and deeper than a lot of cartoons around at the time (and even today). Dora is kiddie stuff, but the Muppet Babies were more than that.
And personally I don't care what other people think; like if they mistake...
Thanks Count, always loved that song! Even though The Wizard is a bit of a jerk, his song has a nice message. That you don't believe in something just because someone told you told to or just because the story's old. :)
I managed to find a copy of Muppet VHS Gonzo Presents Weird Stuff...
Hehe thanks, I thought it was appropriate since Season 3's coming out this week. And I waited for ages to get to see Beige Fraggle when Season 2 was coming out, lol.
I can't watch MFS for more than 2 minutes, I get this depressed and mean spirited feeling from the story every time. It reminded me of the typical last season of a great TV show. By the last season you know the show has seen better days.
In the early '90s TV special Mother Goose Rock n Rhyme, Howie Mandell plays a wise cracking (heh cracking) Humpty Dumpty. When he falls, only one king's horse and one king's man comes to help him.
"Hey, budget cuts, we're scaling back!"
"Well, put him together again!
"Heh, no can do!"...
I definitely belonged to the club of "Scared of Sesame Street's Humpty Dumpty"!
I never really thought about it but yeah I suppose the original meaning was that Humpty did die. But it's also possible to say he didn't since he's a fictional character.
Well it just depends on your opinion of the Muppet Babies. I have a great opinion of them and wouldn't mind if they were the only things brought back, at least for awhile. In its own way I thought it was just as deep as the other Muppet projects (and deeper than some of the new ones). But that's...
Yeah, did you ever wonder if having Beaker perform "Feelings" did any damage? It does sound like he's straining at times, lol.

(Incidentally, this is one of the most frequently posted Muppet clips Lol)
