I am a huge Roddy McDowall fan! I've enjoyed his quirky and distinctive personality in so many different movies and TV shows.
I have the album of the original Broadway cast version of Camelot, where Roddy played Mordred. He sings "The Seven Deadly Virtues", which has some extremely witty...
Exactly, It's true that there are some Christian groups that do objectionable things. But that is true of every religion. And it is not an excuse for constantly putting an entire religion in a bad light. It's unfair to the Christian groups that, as you say, contribute so many good things to the...
I just wanted to say, I don't think it's necessarily helpful for parents to tell their children they aren't allowed to watch a certain show. Very often the shows that get the brunt of this are decent, intelligent shows that just have a bit of edge. I think you can stear your kids in a good...
The thing is, it's not wrong to show TV characters occasionally acting badly. That's what makes a good story. It helps the real life audience connect with the characters. The important thing is whether the overall character teaches something good in the end. The answer is not to make a "Stepford...
Yeah some people choose not to get immuizations, and sometimes it's for religious reasons, and sometimes not. I personally think immunizations are vital. But whatever the case, I hope your family's health improves. :)
Exactly! It can be tempting to be superstitious and think all the bad things happen to you (I know I've thought that way from time to time!). It certainly can feel that way because we only see things from our own perspective. But in reality, everyone has bad days, and everyone has good ones. :)...
Oh yeah, I don't really mind if the book/movie offers a different opinion from my own. As I say, I'm more concerned because Hollywood rarely puts Christianity in a good light. It's a bias situation that isn't being addressed.
I'm going to stop commenting for now, until I hear more. :)
I guess it depends on your opinon. I feel I've already seen that with some recent Muppet films. But I don't blame any one person. I just think it's hard to repeat a classic.
I'm going to wait and hear more reviews before I consider see it. Hollywood does not hesitate to put Christianity in a bad light and this book does apparently have a history, so I'm a bit wary. But I won't judge right away. Like I said, I'll wait.
I don't know, I honestly feel there have been less and less classic clips shown, though they aren't completely gone. And there are many clips that haven't been shown in years. They don't seem like a priority. I guess it depends on your perspective. Like "is the glass is half empty or half full?"...
That's right, I've also heard David sing the song too. So it was probably a remake if I remember it correctly.
You're lucky, it's one of the few '90s episodes I got to watch at that time, lol.
Sorry to hear Thanksgiving wasn't great. Mine was good, but surprisingly good, because that's not always the case, lol. We forget that holidays are also a time of stress and problems. All we can do is be thankful for the things that do go right. :)
I do think I remember that sketch. An older woman is singing with two kids named Lexi and Carlos and also Elmo. The lyrics were roughly, "Your name's Carlos, that's a fine name. It's not my name but it's fine just the same. Stand up tall and say it proudly! Carlos is my name! Yes it's my name...
I agree, we naturally want to tear down the big powerful fish. I do understand that. But I think we also need to understand that the world is a complicated place and we should not judge a whole people based on the actions of a few. :)
I know, I do want to be fair and see the film first before...
Are you referring to the Golden Compass? I have been hearing that it's a bit anti-Christian. Which basically equals anti-Narnia. I'm not suprised, the cool thing to be right now is anti-Christian, even if it comprises so much of your viewing audience.
Oh ok cool, yeah just checking, hehe. I probably looked at it a few times yesterday myself, lol. It's great that the Sesame Street performers got individual achievement at the time. :)
