Definitely, I saw a passage the other day that I think really applies:
"Romans 5: 3-5. '...We rejoice in our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been...
Yeah again, you'll get no argument from me as far as how Wanda's treated, lol. Though, look at it this way, your daughter did recognize that Cosmo's behavior was bad. ;) I think FOP's problem is that they're trying to combine humor with morality and sometimes one get sacrificed for the other...
I do partially agree, I do think FOP occasionally takes it all too far, especially with Cosmo's treatment of Wanda. On the other hand, I think Wanda's not always a great role model for girls. She, like many female character on TV, represents that in order to be smart, you must be boring and no...
Aw, I love Fairly Odd Parents, lol. Timmy is a snot but he always learns his lesson by the end (which is a good example to a lot of kids who don't understand empathy and morality). I like it when kids shows have a bit more edge, as oppose to being an unrealistic fairy tale.
But you know, we...
Lol, very true! Helps to keep things in perspective. ;)
Completely agree, this needed to be made. It gives people another view of Sesame Street, besides parents fighting over toys.
I got to see it when it premiered at The Museum of TV and Radio. I thought it was very well put together and very moving. It's true that it's not like "Of Muppets and Men", there isn't much about the puppets or puppeteers we know about (though are a few shots of them training new puppeteers)...
.......Wow, lol. Well, I do find their choice of music rather ignorant. There's plenty of music that's genuinely painful to listen to, heh.
I don't know the whole story so correct me if I'm misunderstanding. But many European countries do have different standards regarding nudity.
I think...
Yeah I was planning to just rent it at some point, watch that scene, and then bring it back. Lol I'm sorry, I'm just very skeptical about the new movies.
Actually we've talked about how problems and challenges often push people, including Richard it seems, to strive for success. It reminds me...
It's ok, you're right, they discovered it first came from monkeys and then eventually spread to humans. That's just a fact, and it's often how diseases start I imagine. And I don't think there's anything wrong with being curious, as long as people aren't too intrusive or offensive. As someone...
I just found this page on Muppet Wiki, about the Daytime Emmy awards Sesame Street won over the years. Very nice photo included (though I imagine it would make some of the puppteers blush now; sort of like looking at an old yearbook photo hehe):

Lol, I understand, I haven't thought about it in a long time too. I guess that's what happens after you leave grammar school, hehe. I'd recommend watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and another Peanuts special This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyages. :)
I have to agree, the ads are a little intrusive to the flow of the messages. I think they could work at the bottom. Thanks and have a Happy Day After Thanksgiving! :)
Lol, yup!
We should remember too, the Pilgrims first months in America were not fun and enjoyable. They lost a lot of their people and probably felt things would never work out. But despite all that they were able to be grateful for what they did have, and the faith that kept them going. :)
I'm sorry your Thanksgiving wasn't great, D'Snowth. We do need to remember that holidays are also a time of stress and not always a perfect day. All we can do is be thankful for all the things we do have. :)
Glad you had a good time, BeakerSqueedom! Very interesting about the cup!
My...
Ok I've never taken up smoking myself, but I seriously doubt kids start the habit because they saw Cookie Monster doing it. lol
I guess there's three reasons I never took it up.
1. I'm naturally hesitant to try anything new, lol.
2. My Grandpa, a smoker himself, warned me what a nasty...
I loved that Barkley was on the float, that was thrilling! They did film the wrong people at times. More research should have been done, but then again it is difficult filming a live event like that. The parade is often awkwardly filmed.
Oh that's true! I do remember thinking they were filming the wrong Muppets at times. Heh, in general there's a lot of lack of effort in the world today as far as research. To be fair though, it's difficult filming a live event like that and the filming of the parade has often been awkward in the...
So thrilled they used the Kermit balloon!
Dr.Tooth, what was wrong with the filming for the SS float? I did watch it but didn't pay as much attention. Just asking. :)
I have to say I disagree, I don't mind if they use a Muppet, I don't think that's what the problem was. And I don't think it hurts the innocence of the characters, it makes them more interesting. And besides, let's face it, the Muppets are more popular with the children.
Though again, that's...
