Lol, that so cool, glad you got up the nerve! I'd love to do Karoke sometime, espeically if there's Muppet selections. Yeah it definitely helps to have friends with you. :) :)
Yeah that does make sense. We speculated awhile ago that that perhaps Beaker represented a side of Richard where he felt misunderstood and unable to communicate. And that we thought Mokey's song "Ragtime Queen" seemed to echo the puppeter's relationships with their characters.
Lol, well I...
Lol, yeah I think that prospect would quite frightening to Beaker as well! Hasn't he suffered enough? ! Remember when he tried doing Piggy's hair in TMM?
Now I could see Mokey and Beaker working out. She's be a much more calming influence and appreciate him despite his "differences." :)...
Yup, it's the age old quandary. Artists want to change and move on from what they've done before. And for the most part fans are willing to go along. But they really want to see the characters they grew to love in the first place and know will be enjoyable. And after all the fans are the reason...
The companies certainly seem to think this is true. Except that I've rarely seen this way of thinking reflected in real life, heh. Audiences are not robots, they don't go around thinking "old cartoons bad, CGI good. Or vice versa." There are kids who enjoy the classics, even if they also like...
Oh yeah definitely, it can be such a stressful time too. Worrying about crowds, visiting relatives, what to buy people, over commercialization in the stores, etc. If you concentrate too much on the presents and malls and relatives, you'll definitely get depressed. I find occasionally...
It is a shame, many art and literary forms are getting lost. We've become very complacement to being ignorant in this country, heh (and I include myself here of course).
Well I imagine Richard and Jerry (since they often worked as a team) were glad the relationship came off well, the way it...
Yay, it's finally December 1st! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :halo:
I'm one of those annoying people who really enjoys the holidays, lol. As Kermit once said, "Life would just pass in a blur if it weren't for times like this."
I was paniced today because I couldn't find our regular...
I adored Doug, watched it all the time. It was so clever, from the endearing characters to the quirky background music. I especially loved Doug's fantasies like Quail Man ("the powers of the Quail, bobbing and darting! lol).
Didn't like the Disney version too much, that's when it jumped the shark.
Speaking of Gordon, I'm glad for another change to the character. It seems like in the first few seasons, he had a bit of a chauvinistic streak in him. The original actor (with all due respect) was even annoyed with the idea of giving Susan a job. Now, I understand they were trying to make the...
Oh how true that is! A couple weeks ago, I went to the doctor's for an examination. Two hours later, I had an enormous head cold! (Well you know what they say about hospitals...they're full of germs!) :attitude:
I'm all for giving the other characters more exposure. But there is a fine line when you're developing characters and storylines. When you take the comic relief characters and put them in the lead role, they often end up losing what made them endearing in the first place.
Hard to believe, but I have experienced this.
Oh yeah, I don't mean kids need to get the references now. I said kids just need to be exposed to them now, so they mean more later on. I'm talking about kids years down the line who have never heard of these things, because they were never even...
I can't remember where it was, but I distinctly recall an article that referred to Jerry as the "Mel Blanc" of the group. I'm not sure it was necessarily because all his voices were different. But the fact that he could be relied upon to do a variety of characters (particuarly since he didn't...
Oh yeah, I loved that too! Lol
As for examples. It's just that Hollywood movies tend to be about the little guy overcoming an oppressive authority. It's a very American concept and a very noble one, I definitely support that. But unfortunately religion and Christianity in particular are often...
That's a cute question! Well I kinda liked the story Kathy Mullen told in the 3rd Season DVD. How they gave Mokey a Winter sweater to go over her regular sweater. And Kathy liked it so much she decided Mokey would never take it off! Lol
