Wait... if they had a different ending in mind... who made them kill the mother off?
Anyway, supposedly Raising Hope was cancelled (unless I misheard it) and the last episode was on last night. It kinda... well.. just ends. It had a sweet conclusion, but it just ends.
And THAT was a better...
Yeah, no nostalgia goggles or bias... but the original 1990 movie was one of the best comic book movies ever made. And in an era where they were low budget jokes that no one likes (except for the camp value) or remembers fondly. Sure, they changed a couple things here and there, but it was...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. These guys are fans and they tried. If you don't like the film's direction, that's perfectly okay... but the point is, this wasn't some jaded, buzzword filled cash grab. It's a script by a bunch of well meaning fans who, if you didn't like the film...
The Turtles were plenty grim and gritty without a movie. Heck, the first film is real dark and gritty, thanks to the fact they shot it on a budget. Marvel's films have been gritty and dark, but they at least managed to do so right and make it fun too. I'd HATE to see a TMNT comedy movie more...
I'd say it's closer to light soul than disco. It kinda reminds me of Lou Rawls's "You'll Never Find" (or whatever that song's called). It has an inherent cheese to it, making it a tacky 1970's lounge number- only better.
Dan's probably got waaaay too much clout on that network anyway. That's probably the reason why they forcefully make all their cartoons that aren't Spongebob (or THANKFULLY not TMNT for the time being as it sells toys) flop, so they have more room for this stuff.
Monster and Robot deserved...
Mr. Peabody's actually quite good, especially compared to the other Jay Ward films (especially especially Dudley Do-Right which was incredibly directionless with only the villain attempting to emulate the cartoon). Heck, compared to most cartoon remakes, it's well done. I shudder to think what...
I really never got the point of those bland family sitcoms they had back then. I especially wanna know how good of a contract they gave Jim Belushi to keep that piece of garbage on for so many years (the last 2 seasons being burned off in summer). I'm so glad we have better family sitcoms on...
That sounds like quite a read, actually. I'd say go for it and make it its own thread. Why waste it burying it at the bottom of this one?
I think I speak for everyone when I want to know how far the other cartoons went into production and how the heck we could get Disney to release them as...
They're actually about 6.
I'll admit the Fozzie and Kermit aren't that great. Kermit has Constantine's scowl, effectively making him look MORE like Constantine than Constantine... but the Gonzo's actually pretty good, and the Constantine plush proper is actually quite better looking in...
I really used to like it, but I'm not compelled to watch it again. I was refreshing to have such a dysfunctional family com where the adults had all the problems and the kids were barely in focus. I mean, I really hate pretentious kids in sitcoms. But the mother and wife of Ray were both...
I'd say, for variety, you're better off with the Knex Mario Lego knockoff figures. Too bad you'd either have to be really lucky with Blind bags or buy a whole, huge set for them.
And knowing that, it'll probably be just slightly under that. :smirk:
What I would like to see happen, but it won't, is MMW being the alternative film to Captain America for families with children too young to see Cap, and doing some decent business there.
I honestly can't decide if that was intentional as it's a different performer for Kermit, and thus trying to sound like the wrong one or they just wanted to sneak as many Jim Henson references as possible into the film.
I'm sadly going to say the Sega Genesis Sesame Street "Counting Cafe" game. But HEY! It has Forgetful Jones, Farley, and SAM the Robot in it.
Plus the Little Big World Muppet expansion pack looked like loads of fun.
They're taking it in stride and saying it's at least the number one comedy. Considering 2 more comedies were released that last weekend (Bad Words and The Budapest Grand Hotel- both actually look pretty good, actually), that is saying something. But said comedies didn't really have a mainstream...
I'll admit that NCIS's prerequisite "fake nerd computer hacker that can do things that aren't realistic with computers" character is kinda cute. Other than that, I just can't stand when things that try and don't live up to overly high expectations are looked upon worse than something with NO...
