Obvious joke pertaining to what Dominic was doing in the film, I guess?
I've seen stuff like that for worse movies, so I'm not going to complain about that. Obviously, it was written by a film critic that probably thinks like a good 2/3's of animated movies are good because they're kid's...
Okay,... for a minute, let's forget that Peabody and Sherman had a big movie, and there's 2 4 issue limited comic series. Let's talk about the show itself.
I have to admit, even I am greatly guilty of this, but I just can't shake the feeling that Aesop and Son is a very underrated segment...
You can tell how hard they're pressing the "oppressed right" manipulation and "They're coming to get you, Barbara" paranoia when they stress how "bad" it makes them look vs. turning the film into their own personal talking point. And remember, there were people on the far right who praised The...
And they TOTALLY failed to find any Libertarian/Ayn Randish tones in the fact that the villain is a tyrannical president that wants to spread conformity and suppress creativity. Not so much stupid as oblivious.
Waste of time's not the word. Waste of time I can handle. Most of the episodes this season were wastes of time of a Dragon Ball Z filler episode level (almost makes me want How I Met Your Mother Kai). They built something up to purposely tear it down. That's more trolling than wasting time...
I'm going to pull a Sesame Street on this one.
Sherlock Hemlock.
With the Guy Ritchie movies, the BBC show, and CBS's Sherlock series, the character of Sherlock Holmes has never been more relevant. And with Jerry's characters getting recast, the time is right to bring this character back...
Dinosaurs tackled things with ruthlessness and got away with it because it both looked kid friendly and not taken too seriously AND it flew that under the radar that no one actually had the chance to find anything controversial in it.
The show openly mocked Scientology! And it was so under...
I can agree to that. But it was handled in such a way that it was a bizarre rant, rather than a serious discussion of the issue. And for kids!
And for the record, there are people who can take the message without becoming cynical and snarky about it. But keep the message direct, friendly...
The wedding's only significance was that's how the mother was met. If there was at least more struggling and denial about their marriage and it ended slowly with love fading, it still wouldn't have been a major screw you to the audience.
What really made me annoyed by it was that they didn't even put up a fight for the marriage and just junked it 3 years in on one argument. They didn't try to work it out, making it completely disposable. It's bad enough the divorce erased what made the last 2 seasons special, but for it to...
I also never heard of that movie until the weekend it opened. It was barely marketed. His political life and scandal may have contributed to the film's disappearance, but just general apathy about the film seems to be the more reasonable explanation.
Well... that was a slightly redeeming moment, but it's more of a moment for Max. Doc already crossed the Moral Event Horizon by hiring someone to kill Kermit. But it does add a little nuance of honor among villains, accentuating that Southern Gentlemanly bit they were going for.
On the one hand, sure... the collective response is that Flim Flam is more annoying and it makes Scrappy look better, but I chalk it all up to the sharp pre-Animaniacs writing of Rugger and co for making Scrappy a genuinely funny, likable character in 13 Ghosts. And for thankfully cooling off...
Which makes it all the more disappointing that the Happy Days cartoon was almost a Doctor Who cartoon.
We would've seen a Dr. Who meets Scooby-Doo series!
It's not a horrible film, by any means. BTTF suffers from being a 2 part trilogy. As we all know, the sequel hook at the end of the first movie was a joke. Then they made it. There's like a bookend at the end of the third film, but nothing really ties the third one into the first, only the...
