While it is debatable which film is better on the merits of tone, plot, and concept, I'm shocked that not one other person has commented on how much better the filmmaking aspects of the follow up were. I'll agree, the last film bounced around from looking like a film to looking like theatrical...
Anyone suffer the pleasure of Watermelon Yogurt yet?
Actually not too bad (they all essentially taste like someone dropped a Jolly Rancher in a vat of milk). Still, I opted for the Ninja Turtles one this time.
I love Miss Piggy and all, but NO FREAKING WAY am I ingesting Cotton Candy yogurt.
I don't know about that, but it was certainly MUCH better than the Mahna Mahna finale last film. I keep hearing these complaints that the ending of this film was a little weak, but on the plus side, they completely tied up the movie before the finale.
I really hope it makes just a little more just to kinda surpass those numbers and make up for the 3 mil deficit last week. I also hope that everyone involved understands that they released too many movies at the same time this month and that nothing's really making all that money. Noah's going...
Like I said... smaller, collectible ones would have given us a greater range of character.
But complaining about how T-Shirts have the same stock photos? That's elementary stuff right there. It sucks, though. There's a great one with the characters stylized on it that I have. Has Scooter...
No no no. Not fans that constantly rewatch the first three films. Ones that kinda sort of watched them once when they were kids. Maybe an episode of the Muppet Show that one time and a bunch of Muppet Babies episodes. THAT kind of casual. The ones that got more exposure to the preschool...
That's probably good, I guess. If the merchandising out performs the movie it does send the subtle message that people like the Muppets, yet won't bother to see a movie unless it hits home video or are dragged there. At least the future of T-shirts and plush seems salvageable.
But it would be...
Yet no Mr. Peabody sounds weird? I actually like how the Happy Meal commercial is an impersonation of Ty Burrel's impersonation of Bill Scott and it somehow comes out sounding like a BAD Morgan Freeman. Double Other Darrin...
Characters are usually recast when someone dies or leaves. That...
It's weird. Sometimes I kinda like it, most of the time I hate it.
But red's where it's at. Except I refuse to eat Red Vines ever again. Those were horrid.
They favor the attention getting sketches a bit too much. If these are more cost effective, it's about darn time to make more of them. They're even better than the parody segments. They're good, but that Cookie and Oscar bit was just so nostalgic, and wouldn't be out of place in the 80's.
It really seems like a concentrated effort on trying to bring back classic style Muppet segments that don't need to work on parody, reference, or celebrity. But the best, most classic thing I've seen this season, was the Ernie and Bert street story episode.
More like that, please!
ENG's a special case. Disney really didn't want that film to do well, and they managed to sweep it under the run, YET make a DTV sequel and TV series based on it. Hardly got merchandise and they thought it was good enough for a sequel and series. I don't get that logic. All I know is that it was...
