    2015 Popeye Movie

I also forgot about the lack of realistic uncanny valley eyeballs. Just the good old pie eyes like in the cartoons. :)

    2015 Popeye Movie

I love how perfectly they translated the bendiness of the character movements.

    Worst/creepiest puppets/puppeteer work

That Christian show on the AV Club article about the Smile of a Child network where the host rips the hearts out of puppets to see what's inside is pretty morbid, but the puppets themselves don't look half bad, certainly a lot better than other examples there.

Sesame Street Season 45 Episode 4502 - Bert's Training Wheels

I wouldn't worry too much about CGI completely taking over the show. Those backdrops don't look cheap, with all that advanced lighting and texture work. Not ideal for a show that's struggling with budget problems.

Girl Meets World Officially Picked Up

I guess we can credit Michael Jacobs' side of the production for not making it a total stinkburger.

Girl Meets World Officially Picked Up

One of my YT subscribers, a music and wrestling critic named Marc Mues, has a program called "S***coms", where he and a few of his friends take a look at pilots of crappy sitcoms and riff on them. I'll agree with them that Girl Meets World is less in-your-face and more plot-driven compared to...

    The Rowdy Reviewer thread

I think an abstract alien planet setting would have worked out better than an '80s interpretation of the '50s.

    The Rowdy Reviewer thread

I would have liked it if he covered the Dragon's Lair series a little more. I liked how it tried to incorporate the multiple scenarios the player had to choose from in the game by making commercial break cliffhangers out of them (will Dirk choose A or B? Stay tuned after this!), which sadly...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

I really hope The Boxtrolls will be a better success than Coraline and ParaNorman. A late September release with no competition to speak of should be more promising. A lot was going against Guardians, but Disney's promotion of it paid off beautifully, especially considering it was placed in...

    Commercial rant time...

Those mail-order toy commercials baffle me. The toys themselves don't even look remarkable enough to not sell in stores, unlike some other infomercial products.

The best and worst uses of Flash animation

It's a program that's more accustomed to traditional frame-by-frame animation anyway.

What kind of cookies does the SST Cast use to feed Cookie Monster?

They're easier for him to chew, too.

The best and worst uses of Flash animation

It's done in Toon Boom, and also by Atomic Cartoons.

The best and worst uses of Flash animation

Now that I've got to watching the 2nd season of Rescue Bots, I've noticed that things move at a higher framerate than before, and perhaps a little more fluidly than what Atomic Cartoons did before with Toon Boom. The bots are also rendered in CGI when transformed, allowing them to be seen in...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thread

The latest episode is more filler, but we got some good camaraderie between Donnie and Casey.

Another Stupid movie to Overreact to...
