Original jingles like in the old days of advertising (as recently as the late '90s) are truly a dying art. No matter how cheeseball they are, at least they don't run the risk of tarnishing the legacy of whatever popular song is being used to sell stuff. Probably would be a lot cheaper to make...
They even had an episode where Rippen wasn't the villain for once (but Penn and the others needed him for help). And Paul Reubens voiced said villain in that slightly creepy effeminate voice he used for Bat-Mite.
The revisiting of universes may be more due to budget, but it works to its...
That was a nice jab at those kinds of people who like to go hunting for sasquatches or other mythical beasts. Maybe there's a good reason why Bigfoot's in hiding, you guys. ;)
As cliched as amnesia episodes are, Last night's ep. had a good enough twist on it in that Muscle Man and High Five Ghost don't remember a thing about their friendship specifically.
That was a great episode focusing on Sadie and her overbearing mother. And like Connie, she chews her out at the end. It's obvious that this was specifically aimed at those vicarious parents who insist on controlling everything that their child takes an interest, no longer making it fun for...
I feel that nowadays, even hating the show is out of fashion, much like with Twilight and Bieber. Anti-Barney humor has been milked for all its worth by this point.
Or a public park in the later years, complete with a playhouse made out of a caboose that's open to all.
Though the synth...
I read one of the Mega Man comics a long time ago, and credit should be given to all in making a series full of repetitive boss fights into a coherent narrative. Sucks that they're canning that in favor of their flagship comic that is only desperately clinging to relevance.
Looking back, Barney probably wasn't as bad as others say (for one, I admit to liking some of the human characters like Mr. Boyd the janitor and Stella the Storyteller, and I did enjoy the times where Tomie dePaola guest-starred), but I looked at a few of the more recent episodes, and I'd say...
I'm going to say "meh" on this.
The Mary Poppins sequel, on the other hand... well, Disney is supposedly using the later 7 books in the series for the source, so I can't roll my eyes at that too much.
I actually took the time to torture myself with the Barney episode where Riff made his debut just to hear how he'd sound, and it's pretty eerie how close his voice sounds to the one Michaela Dietz would use for Amethyst, maybe a little softer.
So many questions about this. Why did they need for the token black kid to bust out random raps? Why does his grandmother stutter like a stroke victim? Why is that rendition of "Good King Wenceslas" so hauntingly off-key? And what station felt the need to air this not-broadcast-quality-at-all...
"Nightmare Hospital" was the 3rd episode to not feature the Gems at all. It was truly Connie's time to shine, and her mom's time to loosen the reins a bit in her parenting to let her save their lives.
Pixar does actually try its best to not fall into formula. For example, after Monsters Inc., they stopped doing those hilarious blooper reels at the end credits because they were afraid of that sort of thing.
It's as if Scorsese was trying to make a kids' movie, but utilizing the stuff he...
So awesome to see Chloe back again. And so heartwarming to see the bears help her get her some human friends in their own overly helpful way. And let's not forget the cameo of a certain currently-running CN show playing on her TV! :)
I'm enjoying these episodes in which M&R aren't directly responsible for ruining Benson's life. And the whole conspiracy about Internet cat videos really being humans (or in this case, non-feline creatures) in mo-cap suits enslaved by a crazy director makes all too much sense. And who could...
