I think a lot of the photos with Animal's eyes pinned so widely and wildly back help fuel the Crazy Harry resemblance. I tell you, my Animal looks better each day. I actually trimmed (very slightly and sparingly) a few stray hairs on the replica today and it improved him so much.
As for the...
:smirk: I thought that the sale of the Muppets would help the Henson Company gain focus, and it has a little. But it just seems they aren’t taking enough initiative – especially with the Fraggles. I don’t see any real strategy behind the decisions. Fraggles really should have come before...
This concerns me too. They shouldn't be advertised over here on the sales banner (as I have been calling it). It appears as an endorsement even though I know that is not the case. Some beautiful work on most of these. I'll wait for the real deal. If I were ever to commission something of this...
Jim Henson Productions apparently sued and won over the resemblence of the Whimsy's House character design to that of the Muppets. Michael K. Frith designed many of the Muppet characters and did (and was allowed to do) so for Between the Lions since part of this Muppety style is also his. Hope...
Well the Justice League Movie, exciting as the prospect is, needed to go away for a while for the sake of securing Christopher Nolan for a third Batman film and hopefully Bryan Singer and Brandon Routh for Superman: Man of Steel. There's just so much that could go wrong with a JLA live action...
What I'm saying is that if Memphis doesn't win, Toronto certainly shouldn't on the merits of the photos. There are better photo sets than that one. It does seem that they have a lot of online friends helping them out.
Yea, the quality of the pictures is better for Memphis, but Kermit and Kev...
We all love Kermit...
Much of the other photograph sets didn't showcase the wonderful features of MR's Kermit. Most of them could have easily been a propped-up standard nineteen buck Kermit doll. Actually, some pictures make MR's Kermit look worse than a standard commercial Kermit doll because...
Is it wrong that I never liked the Rugrats? Nothing about it appealed to me. I know one of my favorite singers, Cyndi Lauper, provided a song for the Paris movie, but from the voices and characters to story lines and dialogue I just don't like 'em. I will say that they are stylized in an...
I Just Got The Collar
The Halloween online store item I ordered (thanks for those who informed me of it) just arrived and has been painted. The paint is a little tacky and sticky on the black rubber. The velcro attachment doesn't look all that great so I chopped off the ends and created a hole...
The leading Toronto pictures make Kermit look constipated. Had to say it. There must be shananigans! Shananigans I tell you. Only kidding.
Seriously, though. I think Kev's images are great and if you could hear them I'm sure Kev's Kermit impersonation would win anybody over!
I voted for...
People have been pinning the eyes wide. The eyes won't ever completely shut, even pinned. The eyes are at a natural resting position like the comparison photo. Actually, I tried to pull them up as much as possible without pins for that shot. They could appear a little lower. So that's the...
No Kermit but Kermit
There is only one Master Replicas Kermit. The photographic and artistic styling skills of the individual Kermit owner determine the outcome of the likeness that you've seen on the web. Also, over time he seems to settle and look even better. I'm sure some Kermits look...
Filling in the previous gaps:
4.25/B+
Sweeney Todd - fantastic, could use slight tightening, but I loved it
3.5/B-
Shoot 'Em Up - stylish guilty pleasure, I couldn't tear my eyes away
3.25/C+
Beowulf - beautiful achievement, felt long, stiff facial capture, why all CG?
2.75/C...
There is a slicker look to MR's Animal. However I have found the wilder and shaggier he's posed the less he resembles Animal. There is also the shape of the top brow arch that I didn't go into for the review. This changed a lot from the shows to the movies to his modern day representation. I...
I remember being confused by this when the product was first published for preorder, but it appeared to me and many others that the collar and chain leash was in. The neck really looks strangely long and naked without his signature collar, but we'll see when the alternative comes in from that...
Almost misread that thinking you said that the MR picture on their site looks good. I agree that the MR puppet in that shot does look great. It took some skill with posing and lighting. Their version is shinier and newer. Still not entirely happy about the eye shape and focus.
