I remember meeting Caroll at his book signing in San Francisco many years ago. That's where I first met Dave Goelz. He was sitting in the audience with the rest of us. I got to chat with him a little bit. It was exciting.
Caroll seemed incredibly kind-hearted. His stories in the book have...
Return to Oz, the interesting (actually more accurate Oz) film directed by master editor Walter Murch! I think that's the only film he directed. Any film school student knows and admires his legendary editing skills in "Apocalypse Now".
I wish this film had done better. People were expecting...
I'm so glad they didn't go with either of those choices. I believe they originally were going a different way with the production and courting Natalie Portman for the role. Now that would have made for an interesting Oz. Ashanti wasn't totally terrible, but she was bland and had little...
I'll have to look into that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I am in the process of rebranding from jamesvier to wijitworld.
Your pictures are beautiful! Is there a closeup of that upright piano you created for Rowlf? The balcony is gorgeous as well. Exactly what did you do to create...
Thanks.
In cases like Uncle Deadly, I drew head-to-toe turnarounds of the character to be translated into the actionfigure. In cases like Gonzo I made photo quality turnaround alterations of the prototype in Phototshop and marked each change. I also did a little graphic design on Johnny's...
I liked it. Not a big Ashanti fan, but the film transcends her performance. The only problem I have with Oz is the focus. There were parts both under and over exploited.
Oh yeah. It was series three. That's about when I started to step aboard. ;)
As for the eye placement mentioned - maybe I'm just getting used to him but it looks better every day.
Out of the box Animal's likeness gets a 3 at best, but that's why I planned to wait. I really didn't do much...
That's what I really was going for. I was cautious about the rating and was back and forth 4-4.5 a bit, but after living with Animal for another week I stand by the 4.5 because he really is that good.
I was possessed upon opening Animal. I went straight for the Sharpie. I couldn't help...
There were no multiple "alterationS". There was one minior one. All I did was swipe the brow rim with a marker and admitted to that. That process was simple and took all of about 25 seconds. If you think that negates my review than so be it. I disagree. That one portion is where I "drew the...
There’s no problem with loving your Animal. He just makes me happy! Never thought I’d be this pleased with him much less have my excitement increase daily. If that’s wrong then so be it. Muppets need to be worn-in. I guess that’s official now. :halo:
I think the review was a one-shot thing...
Great pictures Antony! Yours are truly some of the best Animal photos I've seen.
Just posted a new collar picture in another thread, but Here Goes.
Light trimming of the hair and a Sharpie for the seam is all that was required for this picture. Oh, and love too. I love my Animal good! (In...
Hmm. I wasn’t privy to any information about MR and the review. It was an honest review from having purchased the product myself and writing it per request for Phillip at Muppet Central. It’s not an entirely glowing review. It sings the praises that the product easily deserves yet does not gloss...
I am so glad for the chance to write that review. And am surprised they actually used it! I'm slightly stunned and very honored.
made sure to "live with" Animal for several days before placing fingertips to keyboard. I didn't want to customize/alter the original product (I did permanent...
I would love to see the pictures, but will not join My Space under any circumstance. I'm one of the few people who just won't do it even though my friends are on there. Just find the place and specific branding smarmy and unnecessary. I know it’s not all like that. I have good friends who swear...
I disagree. The thing about Whimsy was that all of the characters (in color, style, Henson facial "triangle" proportions, construction, contraptions, materials etc.) resembled the "Muppet look" so it wasn't just one thing. They also probably didn't consult with the Henson Company before going...
