Very cool! That is the definitive Piggy. One little thing I did to mine was get a bit of very watered down brown watercolor and brush it over her hair. The statue really springs to life when the Tweety-ish yellow is toned down (still don't know why they went with that) and the bust becomes the...
I'm actually in the toy shop now. I'm looking at a wall of them and I have to be honest - I've always thought many of the classic Star Wars figures sculpt jobs bit. However I do like the scale amd type of figures they are.
The Palisades minis were a little too textured, limited and pricey...
I finally broke down and bought Sesame Street Old School volume 2 when I repurchased VMX due to misplacing my other copy. It was half off after Christmas. :wisdom:
Also, since I work at this little toy shop a few days a week I have the cool job of actually selling some of the remaining...
The inclusion of Abby is important, but I'd really like the focus to be on the rest of the 40 Sesame seasons. That seems to be what they did. :super:
I wonder how much frank Frank Oz discussion it contains. We know he has some disagreements with the show's direction over the past few years.
Personally, these days I like the Rowlf and Rizzo pairing and think a Gonzo and Pepe pairing would be interesting. I was never a big fan of Rizzo as far as speaking parts, but his YouTube interaction with Rowlf was the funniest I've ever seen him. :shifty::rolleyes:
I have to watch my posers carefully when they're among company. For some reason people treat these fragile items as if they're indestructible. I'm amazed these can get through a convention in one piece.
A little history...
Sister Act was originally a thinly written screenplay intended with Bette Midler in mind. She turned down what was seen as a train wreck at the time. Whoopi accepted the role but was reportedly unhappy on the set. She remained professional as always while the production was...
Santa and Crumpits
Santa was meant to be an understated character in this film. I think this actor did exactly that. The writers debated about showing Santa at all, but felt his screen absence would attract too much attention.
The magic isn't supposed to be with Santa in this special. The...
I'd take that Fozzie too. It's better than their Animal and I got that working pretty good after some personal touches. My comment didn't state that I wouldn't buy that poser pictured - merely - that particular picture of MR's Fozzie looks inferior to the initial ones we all saw that blew our...
Neca handled the Disney and Burton property of Nightmare Before Christmas figures and I think that should work well for Muppets too. They already handle Henson stuff. It's still far too soon for another Muppet figure series of any substance.
The cartoon look is fine with me if done well...
If you can find a Kermit he'd be my first choice. Gonzo is also another good choice. Animal...well, he takes some fussing with to get to look right and he's more expensive so I'd say Kermit or Gonzo. Gonzo is my favorite, but I'm biased as he's my favorite Muppet.
And Welcome to the Forum!
I do like Thatcher's take on the Muppets. He's shown range with the various projects he's directed, but I think it's time for a fresh take as far as the next motion picture goes. I doubt Oz would want to direct it, but even so I'd still vote for somebody new. However if either Thatcher or Oz...
I think this was the problem they were having. The Henson Triangle is so delicate that mass production just can't quite cut it without a very strict eye on detail. That probably costs a lot more. :o
I thought Officer Meanie and Joy were both performed with a good mixture of childlike/ish qualities. It was obvious from the start that Meanie's gruff nature was a facade to compensate for his arrested development as a young child. Joy just seemed cheery and youthful. Okay, she's not likely a...
It could just be the pose, but that appears to be the problem-prototype Fozzie to me. The facial proportions and head shape all seem to be out of whack compared to Terry's earlier beautiful work and the actual Fozzie puppet. QCing subtle elements might be too difficult.
Yeah, I see what you mean. I really don't like the whole Muppets playing characters thing that has been done a little too much. The problem with the MCC and MTI roles is that it was nearly all the Muppets in the public eye for too long. Not enough of them just being themselves to balance that...
Bad PR I guess. I really do wonder if there could be a show. Where would it fit? The Muppets are too classy for a regular Disney Channel or Family Channel gig. Television networks are so cut-throat these days as even popular shows get axed for not being complete slam-dunks. Could syndication...
Isn't Frackle the German pronunciation? :coy:
I like your idea too. I wonder if Segel's movie will have the Swinetrek in it? Not likely since his (justified) distaste for the Muppet's many years of theme-film overindulgence. Still, I see a Pigs in Space picture as a no-brainer. It's an...
