Muppet Christmas Carol was voted 25 on Rotten Tomatoes' top Christmas movies of all time. It's a spotty list and one I don't much agree with but it's good to see some Muppet exposure. :)
Thanks for sharing your review. Do you have any photos?
I was initially interested in this, but I have so many darn Muppet figures already that this would have to be top quality for my consideration. There were just too many missteps. Fozzie's tail was the last straw. It shouldn't have...
You're in for a treat. My work with Palisades left me with a complete Muppet figure collection. I know that is a near impossibility for today's collectors. The ones I noted shouldn't be passed up. Zoot's a high-priced item these days, but well worth it. He's really one of the holy grails while...
Nice thoughtful review! I hope to see what you think of the other ones you pick up along the way. Personally I think Series 5+ Gonzo, Beauregard, Series 2 Fozzie Bear, Johnny Fiama, Uncle Deadly, Sweetums, Clifford, Zoot, Sam, Pops and Strangepork are among the strongest likeness sculpts of the...
I don't see this as a touchy issue, but rather one of unimportance. I am a gay person, artist, Muppet fan as well as a graphic designer here at Muppet Central. I have plenty of friends living with this disease and others who have passed away.
In my perspective it is important to celebrate...
It's all too focus-grouped and compartmentalized. The Muppets, including Sesame Street Muppets, have always been about chaos. Those in charge of Sesame Workshop don't recognize the importance of that and have cleaned up the street to nearly an obsessive compulsive degree of efficiency. That...
:p Ernie- because he's Jim Henson's biggest contribution to the show and I'm a little bit like the orange fellow. I eat cookies in my bed too!
:grouchy: Oscar- the world of his trashcan always amazed me. He also keeps all the other characters in check. I love this guy.
:insatiable: Cookie...
:coy: Muppet Family Caroling Menu :insatiable:
Muppet Central is written in white in the center of the menu. It morphs into a Merry Christmas greeting. The logo appears over an image of Rizzo the Rat in a holiday wreath. The wreath is hung on a red brick building with two open windows in the...
Now that makes sense to me. I didn't get the other numbers. Good thing this was on NBC as I don't think running it on ABC at that hour would have pleased Pushing Daisies fans. I think Disney knows what they're doing with the Muppets. I'm just going to go with it for a while. My cautious optimism...
I mostly agree with prawncracker. Fans are always going to think things could be better, but I liked what they gave us. Scooter's official return from retirement alone makes this special ... well, um - special. I know he's appeared before, but he appears back for good now.
And I felt Piggy...
Actually, that's a good thought. There was a reason KSY was a direct-to-DVD product. I just remember a lot of insider hype about the project that was supposed to appeal to 30-somethings like me and it just didn't.
I did like this special, but my idea of a Christmas special would have...
Really? I can't get the first and last songs out of my head! Very catchy. Maybe the orchestration or delivery could have been punched up, but I liked the songs a lot. I want the album! :)
I agree with you. Robin is very much Jerry's character in many ways. There's just no replacing his vocal talent, hence there is no remedy. I feel Robin's performance was okay. It's better than losing the character or having him remain silent like Rowlf was all those years. This sort of thing is...
I get what you're saying and agree with that. However I felt that the special had enough of a mature balance to it. There were those Jim-era kid-vids he did with Rowlf, Kermit, Scooter and Fozzie that I never agreed with.
This special teetered a little more toward the young ones than I would...
I was okay with Robin's voice. Jerry Nelson has such a distinct sharp quality to his vocal performances that kind of grips words in a way that can't be duplicated. The fantastic Mr. Nelson is an original.
I do believe that we just have to let the performers work it out and permit their vocal...
